Second squad of Orks finished. Warm brown for base color. Also found a basing material to finish things off with - AP Wasteland Tufts. It's the first time I've used them, and while I don't think I'll be adding them to my fantasy basing repertoire, I think they've got the right alien world feel going here.

Painting has continued steadily. I've finished all the regular troopers for last two squads. One with a light brown base, the other with a cool dark greenish brown.
Light brown up first. Rather pleased with the armored shoulder pad on the center ork.

Not sure why, but I've had a serious case of painter's block with regard to the last four orks, so I finally gave up and shifted over to the marines. So far I've managed to get the base blue laid in and washed and the eyes done.
