yeah, just not in the original dreadnought rules. the Spirit warriors were a bit different first which did that weird stuff. Did they ever give a name for the Laughing God of the Harlequins?
So quick update on test piece. Painted the pouches and also tried some battle damage plus broke up the armour by adding some random markings in white. Things I'm still thinking about are adding armour colour to parts of weapons, eyes turning red and white stripes going yellow.
Going to have to wait until the base stuff turns up so I can see how how that works with the scheme.
AK Wargames Terrain Fire Land turned up today so did a quick test as I've never used anything like it before. Took about 2 hours to dry and then I just did a quick drybrush to highlight the texture. For what I'm looking for its perfect.
Already based the test model and added the paste so hopefully get time later today to finish the model off.
Test model complete and really happy with the outcome and can't wait to see a few more painted up.
Hard to tell from photo but I glued some small rocks on to the base before adding the paste to give some height in places. Only thing I have thought about was adding some sort of crystal bursting from the ground but think it might make the base to busy and take away from the models. Only other thing was to add a orange wash around the legs to suggest dust.
Painted up 3 more of my merry little band. Have to say as much as I've enjoyed painting them the thing I love is making the bases. Such a fun simple thing, and probably a good job I went with a Mars earth because otherwise I might be here now debating whether to rebase all my Skaven !
Had an hour to work on next project. Always liked the Eldar dreadnought but hated the pose, luckily it turns out its rather easy to cut at the leg joints to give a better pose.
In my search for a dreadnought I've noticed that a lot of them on Ebay seem to be missing parts of the fingers. This one was no exception so I'm going to have to try and greenstuff them back. I can only assume that Eldar dreadnoughts are some how connected to the Yakuza !
missing figures? never seen one that was but I can imagine. Haven't quite go to the stage where I was able to take a photo of the convertion work on one of mine yet ^_^ He has ended up in a more running pose.
