Rogue Trader Eldar and a Squat!

Well thanks to @Eric I have been able to complete my second biker.

Awesome - loving the stars and strips and red desert base. All very dark future biker gang (which is definitely a good thing!)
 
Do I make a comment on how doing that to the USA Flag is illegal in the USA. Works great for a rogue biker so, no problem
 
Well annoyingly I was hoping to have another squat bike to show off but bought from Ebay and turned up and clearly a recast. The detail is missing all over the actual bike and looking at his page he has others for sale and they are all clearly showing lack of details in all the same places and I'm now stuck with what to do. All very frustrating :cuss::cuss::cuss:
 
That is a danger of anything like that now it's the following day and I feel slightly less hot headed! :oops: I suppose a dedicated thread would be asking for a defamation case one day! I mean technically we do have a feedback thread anyway, although do we have any negatives I wonder?

Anyhow defamation aside if perhaps it's very obvious and clearly not just a mistake/unknown - such as other auctions online for the same models I'm not sure the odd in thread mention from long standing members of the board would be that bad. Just make sure it's clear that it is just a suspicion I guess backed up with a few photos and so forth.

Agreed. Besides, if the models are recasts and there is no implication of deliberate intent, they can still be reported as such by the buyer. Facts are facts, take out the opinion and you are fine.
 
yeah. Was wondering about more a trust thing where just list sellers/shops which you have brought from and trust? kinda like private sellers list but.. might be iffy cause some idiots are.. well, idiots
 
.. the legs have 2 intersecting mould lines?!? that's a recast. by an idiot. though I'm only 80% on that I could be mistaking something for a mould line but.. I think mould line

Yeah, that looks suspicious as hell.

EDIT: I did my homework and checked their socials (Insta) and there'a picture of that Minotaur Lord next to other Minotaurs. Check the shiny metal, the huge mold line in 3 of 4 models...

I really want that mutant minotaur to chop it into a Dragon Ogre conversion so I don't need a complete model, but 30€ plus shipping (and customs) for a recast doesn't look fair to me.

I have bought off the site before, he tends to gobble up stuff via eBay and sell on at not too ridiculous prices. Sure if you point out he will check validity…?
 
I think for me its just the frustration of being caught out but I guess you learn by your mistakes. In hindsight I should have been more careful as he was selling several squat bikes and if I had checked I would have seen the poor quality of the models and the fact that all of the bikes showed the exact same issues as the one I bought !

So here are a few photos to show the problems.

My version. You can see the chain detail is missing and the seat cushion is totally lacking.

The other main issue is with exhaust pipes. Instead of 4 individual pipes I have barely any detail at all.

The under side is even worse with no detail at all and basically the 4 pipes are 1 flat area.

damn, that is bad.. I'm far from an expect but pretty sure I could do better (you aren't getting my bike.. I have only one and I got it from a friend with an Ork as a rider.. Need to do it up sometime)
