I’ll put it this way: Years ago i was admiring an Eldar model painted as the cover art of their codex, and the REALLY famous painter that did it said: There’s more ultra Matt varnish on that model than paint. And that’s it. A must have, if you ask. My last bottle of the old formulation is almost empty, I’m hoping the new one is like the OG, because the “mot ultra, just matt” one isn’t.
 
I thought the one I had was AK but I recently had to order a new bottle (well.. local paint shop only has small bottles and I found a bigger bottle for kinda less.. also I can't get to the shop at the moment) and my order history says Vallejo so.. I guess it is ^_^ I can't be arsed to go up stairs and check right now on the small bottle.. can check that one tomorrow

EDIT: (not worth a new post) yep.. Vallejo is what I got ^_^

I've generally used the Vallejo one, but I have heard good stuff about the AK so might have to pick up some if it's not too crazy expensive next time I'm at the shops. Although for really matty matte I think I might still have one can of old Testors - the proper stuff that gives you fatal diseases as soon as you take the cap off the can, not the rubbish new stuff.

Squats look absolutely amazing BTW.

At last a perk of painting in Spain: AK and Vallejo are everywhere and cost less than any competitor's products.
