Rob_S paints some lead

I just had the pleasure of looking through this whole thread. Your painting style is gritty and realistic, but still brings out the fun and character in the minis. Great stuff. Thanks for sharing.

The Fir Bolg arrived today, and I have to say, your photo skills are absolute shit! ;)

The minis are just  gorgeous! I'll get photos up tonight if all goes well. These are just great...

Yes, they are, but go easy on him. He just bought a wizz bang light box specifically to get better picture's, but alas, you still can't see the damn buggers!

His always been a good painter...... Just not much of a photographer :)

The whizbang set up is a $50 Foldio from kickstarter. It doesn't seem to have improved my photo's very much at all. Natural light still seems to be the best bet. The Foldio might have been a dud purchase as the photos I am taking with it don't look anything near as good as the kick starter had me believe. Oh well.

I am so glad the Fir Bolg made their way safely to the States. They did end up looking really nice. Can't wait to see proper photo's of them.

Never trust the photos you see on the web or magazines for that matter... Photoshop has a LOT to answer for I'm afraid.

A handful of things to post to my painting thread. First up is my chaos warband for the Forum's Warband Challenge. Hasslefree Chaosette of the Slaaneshi persuasion coupled with some 4A goblins with an eyestalk conversion. I was very lucky that the warband I was allocated randomly contained only 5 members. Some folk have warbands 10+ strong.

Next is three Chaos Dwarf Renegades. I had been wanting to paint them for a while and Chico's stuntie's week gave me suitable motivation to bump them up the painting queue.

Last is the continuation of the Talisman project. The gladiator I had lying around for decades while the Satyr is a trade from fellow forumite Just John. I recently completed my goal of collecting the first 14 models that came with the initial game. I have just 2 left to paint from that starting 14. Then it will be time for the all important group shot.

Rob, that's a nice paint job, especially the master of madness :)

And the Firbys are great, I have to admit when they were first released I never liked the models, AA's entire Celtic Myth seemed to go downhill in my eyes after the initial Bob Olley releases, but I'm seeing these in a whole new light now :)

Odd story behind this lot. I had organised a trade with our very own Citadel Collector. He had inadvertantly sent my a Talisman monk instead of the requested priest. Steve had another go but again posted the monk in error. Third time lucky and I had the Talisman priest in the painting queue where it currently languishes. As a 'sorry for the mix up' Steve posted me some Rogue Trader minis. I like them so much they jumped the queue on my Talisman project. Hopefully they get in on a game of Rogue Trader while Optimus is back in Aus.

More meat for the grinder? Bring it on! The midget man on the right is gunna cop it first :D

My pick of the bunch would have to be the trooper on the far left, great pose & paint job to boot.

I think the Astropath turned out great too Bob, the dark grey skin tone & purple robes really work well.

All of them are splendid ! I agree with Blue the orange on th eIG is particularly good (reminds me of Igurisujin's ) Nice toi see thos emodels ended in such talented hands !

Some very nice stuff and I like your style a lot, too.
My favourites from Talisman range are the philosopher, wizard and gladiator, great job also on the chaos dwarves and the first 5 orcs on the same row!
