Rob_S paints some lead

Alright, here come the gobbo's and Greenskins! I have a unit of about 20 odd gobbo's done to this standard. It's all part of my rebuilding my very first Warhammer army. That and what will no doubt be the expensive Talisman project should see out 2014. The Talisman Troll is next on the painting table. I might finish him tomorrow if I am very lucky.

First up it's my front rank of biguns! The new additions are the LOTR(?) orc with spear who is pretty boring model honestly and the beserk orc who is all mouth and fangs. Both courtesy of Blue in VT.

And here is some of the 20 strong unit of Crooked Claw. I can't paint too many of these in a sitting as I get pretty bored. A couple every few weeks is fine though. I tend to knock them over in batches of 5 or 6.

This is the last lot of crooked claw gobbo's I painted recently and gave the 'stone cold lead' base treatment. His tutorial on basing is very helpful. Tufts really are better than static grass!

Excellent work Rob! They all look great and when grouped into units will be a real site to behold on the table!

Keep it up

Cheers,

Great collection of painted miniatures.NIce to see them ranked up.I love the orc with his mouth wide open and shouting.Sure I have him some place. Thanks for posting the Crooked Claw goblins.NIce work on the bases too.The tufts are good.

Sterling work as usual, the shields are stunning.

I like the Talisman hag sorcerer woman, I have contemplated getting her but wasn't so sure about the sculpt until I saw yours...(I just painted a Talisman Gypsy)

Wow! This is one hell of a thread and has really set my creative juices flowing. I'm off to finish up some Clan Pestilens Plague Monks I've working on.

Thanks again guys.

The talisman project rolls on. This is the last model I have from the first set of 14 characters. I have a monk, wizard, priest and druid in the post so should get some more done some time next week.

2/14 Troll. He looks much better in hand. I can't seem to take a photo worth a damn.

The Philosopher joins the game. I'm still on the look out for 6 of the original Talisman models. If you have any up for sale/trade let me know :D

lovely stuff :)
The thing I love most about these old minis is how they are crammed with the character that Gary Chalk's illustrations had.

Oh nice!

I love your orcs, the muted colours work really well. The painted shiels with faces are a definite plus too! :D

cheers all!

I love me some Gary Chalk Illustrations. Every now and then I drag down my copy of fantasy warlord and just skim his illustrations. Very nice!

Here is this weeks crop of minis. I'm waiting on a batch of Talisman minis to find there way to Aus, in the interim I painted up some of the excellent 80s Lord of the Rings range. Here are some Hobbits!

Really nice. If I had unlimited funds I would definitely try to collect the entire LOTR range from citadel.

Where does everyone get those nice little flowers for the base? I can't seem to find an easy source here in the US.

EBay is as good a place any that I have found. There is an American distributor, whose name I can't remember, but they've changed all babes from the original German ones. The flowers are called Silflor I think. Ancellotti's workshop (spelling?) Has a good write up about them.

thanks but I think I'm talking about something else

blossoms maybe

I want blue or purple. I'll try miniatur
