Which UV though? A B or C? UVA damages your skin causing pretty much all forms of skin againg and other nasty stuff and is the main UV in sun. With it's long rays, it can go through the skin and through glass, but you can use sunscreen to protect it. UVB is less in the sunlight but it's the main bugger that causes nasty mutations like tons of forms of skin cancer, which when mixed with UVA is really bad. It doesn't go that deep into skin, mostly kills off the top layer. UV-C is the stuff you don't wanna mess with. It's the very nice blue light stuff which you look at it, you will get like an arc flash in your eyes and oh damn, it's bad. Look at all these idiots that gets a 'UV' festiviel, stick the UVC tubes cause they don't know what it is, and either cause major eye damage or blindless (quick online search will show these events every few years).I've heard that you may be able to reharden biostrip damaged resin with UV light if you catch it quick. That may also be complete unsubstantiated poppycock though.
Though, UVC is VERY good at being Antimicrobial. a quick flash of your hands under it will kill gems, but also leave you with a thin power of .. well, skin on your hands.
