“Uncatalogued” or “not widely released”? As the linked blog explains, it was purchased in stores across the globe.
Yeah, pretty much speculation without the company documentation to back it up…I must start a topic to understand more about the varying availability of various models.
I imagine it is a bit of a complicated minefield though?
Plus the old 'studio staff could get some figures cast up for metal weight' so even protos and tests can have quite a few copies around and they don't always catalogue variations caused by mould rippers or the likes.Yeah, pretty much speculation without the company documentation to back it up…
There are some minis that are obviously more rare than others, didn’t get included in official catalogues, or were only around for a relatively short period, but none of that nails down how many were actually cast, sold and still kicking around!
My memory of it is hazy, but I believe it was Bryan Ansell who one time showed me a photo of a drawer full of greens and said "these are all the figures we decided not to produce". So plenty of sculpts never made it into moulds.very. And that is only counting ones which got that far to being cast up. I can't say without a doubt but I would imagine and number of figures which the sculpting was false starts or got scrapped before mould making which aren't documented (though Citadel appeared quite eager to cast up even simple test models)
