Hi guys i participated in the paint a chaos warband challenge in the painting challenge part of the forum and wanted to show you guys in detail what i have come up with.
We all individually rolled a warband and then it got distributed to the others randomly.
We had 8 weeks to find our models and paint the warband !!
The warband i got went like this : lvl 10 human , 4 beastmen , 5 cultists and 4 slann.
I started the warband with only 2 ideas in my head , all models had to be original old citadel (since we are the oldhammer forum),
and to have fun painting all the miniatures instead of stressing with the quality as i tend to do.

The warbands 5 cultists lead by the criminally insane ''Goldface Turdsponge''

Next we have the Runequest broo beastmen ,and a runequest dragonnewt substituting for a beastman/men?
(I have no clue why I painted him atomic green , I guess I was tired of the browns and reds and needed a change )

The choice of models, the choice of paintscheme, everything is splendid in this band. I voted for it instantly. teh names are really good (Turdsponge really?) and it really has a character of its own. I have to say I'm really jealous of the runequest broos and the atomic green one is superb.

Really the kind of work I'd be able to come up with.

Those all look excellent, I've voted for your warband in the main thread. I particularly like the Citadel beastmen, what range are they from as I definitely don't recognise them?

I also am very fond of your hero - I've got the same model and have been unsure of how I'm going to make him look good, but having seen yours I might finally dab some paint on him. I also always vote for Slaan - they just look so adorable in their onesies.

Great warband, love all the old lead, and your paintscheme just ties it all together beautifully, and I love that you still have the occasional guy in a completly random colour, very suited for chaos, but with your excellent basing he doesn't even look out of place

It doesn't matter why you painted atomic green, it looks great. It contrasts against the other colours of your war band.

Thanks alot everybody , i am definatly motivated to paint more oldhammer after all this positive feedback! And im really glad you like the atomic green fella , i was so unsure about him but when i put them all together he just seemed as one of the crew.

I agree with everyone else, these guys look great. Are all those slann Citadel? (I've only seen the far-right sculpt before, but the other sculpts fit in very well with the warband.)

Yeah they the 2 on the left are old pre slottas and the aligator guy is a c32 slann.

Nice! That is a great looking warband. Nice models and gret paintjob - really like how the lizard guy stands out!

So i painted up a runequest broo to buff up the warband a bit more. I painted him up rather quick , nothing fancy.
I had one figth with the warband and it went amazing , next up im gonna do a preslotta chaos warrior for the crew.

Thanks stone cold , im a huge fan of your stuff . I am trying to go from my kinda muddy fast style over to your crisp and clean one , but its damn hard .

The colour choices are great, the execution is great, but you put the word "turdsponge"into my head, and that's going to take a lot to forgive.

Spent yesterday evening on painting this guy. He is one of my favorite preslotta chaos warriors . I tried coloured armour for the first time ever , and i think it went decent, atleast it was way more inspiring to paint than all metal armour. I think i will keep adding weird old miniatures to this warband , next up is a chaos slann on a demonic steed!

Thanks SCL , here he is without paint , its the old old beastmen mount , and some random slann.
I have to give him a weapon swap since its broken tho , which is not my speciality i probably break the arm off.
