Oxfam Oldhammer minis....an ad hoc mixture.

I mean Stirland is Scotland so... it is described as having, highlands, rolling hills, farms, old barrows, etc. And the name is very similar. It may not be Scotland now 2512 IC. But go back to Sigmars time and I reckon the original Stirland tribes were also celtic inspired, as is the land.

you and your minor deities like Sigmar. No-one really remembers him compared to the great and powerful Gadd!

^^So the The Tragedy of MacDeath could be called the Stirrish Game? (If one were superstitious about such things, for some reason.) ;-)

(For the record, I'm the stagehand who will gladly shout MacBeth backstage in front of everybody I know. And sure, I've walked into battens and burned myself on lights, and gotten shocked when par bases came apart while I was focusing them. Even had a spot catch fire once. But it's all clearly and obviously unrelated to MacBeth.)

If they're going to riff on Macbeth they need to accept that it's going to have an a between the m and the c.
Less seriously, think they were always screwing around with names! :D Especially by the genius that was Richard 'Hal' Halliwell (RIP- 5years now!). As we know he was was the original creator of McDeath, with Rick Priestley's input.

I remember reading years ago a post by Zhu Bhajiie on Orlygg's blog: he realised Richard's own name was often misspelt in company literature, for instance, in White Dwarf (ie 'Henniwell' in WD51), and again 'Haliwe!l' in the Riggs Shrine scenario. Maybe an ongoing in-house typo joke?

Anyhow I guess we have a lot to thank for those crazy kids Richard, Rick (and John Dowman- RIP) for their teenage passion in wargaming that spawned such a massive cultural thing. Guess only Rick left who can verify stuff for sure? Zhu wrote about McDeath here: An allegory of the 80's Miners Strike!

This was hanging around on Oxfam Online for months, then it vanished today(!). I didn't have a spare 200 nicker to throw at it...I guess a consequence of John's passing is that his books, art, etc are going to be in (even more) demand for sometime.

Some oldhammer metal if any one interested to add to their lead pile?!
There are other bundles (Hobgoblins, Knights, Assorted) if you search 'citadel'...

Some orcs: Going for just over a quid a pop....
Well done to whoever picked them up on here (I've got enough orcs :D)...

So, in the same batch of Oxfam minis they had some 'Citadel Orientals' listed, but obviously the 'wrong photo', (a batch of knights/ men at arms, sold as another lot) .

A month or so later it was still there, listed. For a 'lucky dip' tenner plus p&p (I had bought a book as well). I decided to take a punt.

These turned up this afternoon! An undead slotta Samurai (a C18) in there, plus an unknown monk mini (anyone recognise this friar?). Rest are puddle based Citadel, C05s and some unidentified (no makers on base), for instance, the two horseman??! One broken samurai katana, but original piece in with it all. Some painted, others not. Noice! :D
