Orks, Orks and moar Orks (beyond Orktober)

Hahah they're brilliant. Although I hope for the grots' sake that Mr Hugsy is gentle with those power claws when dispensing cuddles to the boys! And the uniform, err uniforms work well with the commando get up. I think in 3rd they even gave the commandos bobble hats! Awesome, you have won Orctober (until betrayed by another challenger of course!).

Thanks, I do appreciate that!
The power claws make Mr Hugsy look more like a proper robot than the launchers which render him somehow 'armless'. Mr Hugsy also sidelines as a Bloodbowl player so he needs hands. Sometimes it seems like they all do, plastic arms are getting scarce here

Ooooh, it's Hall-ork-weeeen!
Well, almost. To get in the spirit of the thing, I've gone and converted myself two sideline staff members of the ork warband
hallorkween.jpg

First up is a "warp-crazed Snotling", an unfortunate who has survived being hurled through the warp by a SAG and now is a kind of assistant (and lightning rod) to the Weirdboy (who has 1/3 chance to roll one up before the battle).
Next up is a "squig-brain-transplant ork", a possible result on the Bionik Bitz table. Bad Docs can restore head-shot fatalities back to a kind of life by replacing the brain with a squig. The resulting Ork becomes a brutish thug, doting on the Painboy and dumb as a sack of hammers. So I decided to build a kind of Frankenstein ork.
Can you spot the original parts?

I reckon that's Boy 7 with arms from the modern plastic 'orcs on steroids' sets or something similar. For a moment I thought you'd cut up a metal figure but I reckon you've green stuffed some sleeves (or shoulder sleeves, or whatever that bit of a t-shirt is). But maybe you have for the head conversion.

But in other news I'm afraid you're no longer winning Orctober as punishment for the terrible Hallorkween pun....

Ha, well spotted!
It's supposed to be just a raggedy tunic with torn edges where the muscles bulge out. The arms are actually from a Hero Quest Ogre, as I'm all out of ork arms.
Well, not quite. I've got two left and five more sockets to arm. Let's see how many of those future orkses end up wielding 2nd Ed axes and bolt pistols.

But in other news I'm afraid you're no longer winning Orctober as punishment for the terrible Hallorkween pun....
Please excuse the pun, I am really sorky. And here I was hoping these endearing guys would cement my reign.

Orktober continues fine with a clash between magic and science, tradition and progress:

There's only one good reason to include a Badmoon mob in your warband - they can bring a Weirdboy along. This is only the second model in the warband that's not a Kev Adams sculpt but I like the crazy guy anyway, that hat is just too good.
The mega mech finally got painted, built him almost a year ago.

Also, there's more Skarboyz:

and finally some assorted guys I recently purchased from a fine member of these esteemed forums:

The Deathskullz are coming! Rules-wise the most sensible clan addition any warboss could want, these guys come armed to the gills with the heaviest weapons they can nick and carry away.

Also, I do now have enough orks done to field 1000 pts worth of 'em in a 10th Ed game.
Could a modern warboss tell what I'm fielding here?

The nostalgia is real. That's an incredibly well put together and painted army of greenskinz! I am green with envy. Top work. 👍

Thanks for the kind coments, I really do appreciate!
There's more Orks yet in the pipeline, keeping my fingers crossed that I'll see the actual end of this project actually come together. 12 more Deathskulls, 16 Evil Sunz and 11 more odds & ends - I have aspirations to end up with an army of 130 minis. Eight were already done last year, this year's tally is a proud 83. 'ere we go!

Center stage is a mob of 20 boyz, led by a warboss and a weirdboy. Then there's 10 Flash Gitz led by a 'Big Mek in Mega Armour' who's using a special magic item exclusive to the brigade (Mek Kaptin) Using a similar item (Skwad Leader) is a Beastboss leading a unit of 10 Kommandos. Then there's 5 Lootaz with a SAG and the obligatory grot mob.

Ah well, should I ever find occasion to use them in an actual modern game, it wouldn't be against anyone who worries about stuff like base sizes anyway. It's not a competitive force by any means, it's a collection of models I like the look of. Following the RT rules mainly serves to give the collection focus and some kind of roster to complete.
