Here's a little better pic of the five Orcs I finished in Orctober. The pre-slotta fella in the middle obvious has a broken weapon but I plan on using him to help crew for an old catapult.

That old Harboth is one of my favorite orc sculpts. Yours looks perfect!

Got a late start on this year's Orctober and its also been a busy month, as such I didn't get my chosen models completely finished within the month.

But here is as far as I've got, these three are done other than their shields and bases. I have two more partially done.



I'll upload some more photos when I've finished them completely.

So after another very busy month I actually managed to finish my Orctober entry, with bases and shields.

I've taken a fancy to the Elf Archer and Dwarf minis, only got one of each though, I need to acquire more.

I acquired a Fantasy Fighters set in a raffle when we ran a 24hr charity gaming event at Secondary School. Still have the goblins, orcs and dwarfs but the elves and skaven have been lost to time…

I'll up and say it: The same holds true for the entire Fantasy Fighters sprue.
None of the 4th or even 5th ed monopose plastic soldiers can hold a candle to the old FF guys. Some, like the hooded woodelves are obvious and rather rough-shod copies of the FF design, some -like the perpetually inter-backstabbing Skaven or the deflated Michelin tyrestack dwarves- are worse versions.
Granted, 4th Ed Gobbo Archers are okay. The spearmen - don't get me started on the pokey spearmen.

I had fun converting the gobbos for Orctober this year (https://forum.oldhammer.org/threads/gobbo-bashing.39145/), but the 4th Ed boxset goblins were certainly a bit of a regression on the sprue design…

I quite like the monopose Orc sprue from 4th Ed… going to be hard to repose and convert them though.
