I tend to lurk here rather than post a lot, but having posted these pics on LAF, a friend of mine has advised me to post them here also.
These are classic 80s Elves, painted as part of a war band for the upcoming Osprey rules Dragon Rampant (fantasy version of the medieval Lion Rampant rules). I have been lucky enough to get a pre-publication copy from the author as a 'thank you' for playtesting some other rules he's writing and this has sparked me into painting the collection I have sourced from EBAY over the past 2 years. I was originally intending to paint them as High Elves and did actually get the general and war dancer done all that time ago, but never got any further. Anyway, the General has been reworked into traditional Wood Elf colours. The two knights have also been painted in layers on black undercoat. This cavalry unit will be the last models I paint in this style, as my eyesight is not what it was and they just take me ages to do. The rank and file archers and spearmen of the force will therefore be painted in my 'dip and highlights' style. I'll post some examples of the latter soon as I'm in the middle of a unit of each of spearmen and archers right now.
Anyway, the General and two knights... Enjoy...

PS... Sorry if the pics are too big!!!
