Hi all

This is the poll where you can vote for the game you'd most like to play. There is always the option to just pitch up with your stuff and try and organise things on the day, but we must be mindful that many people will have to travel and so don't want to waste time on the day trying to set up games that no-one else wants to play, or are interested in, but not enough to detract from some other game they'd rather play.

This is specifically asking what the main game you want to play is - the reason you'd drive 200 miles to get to this event! its not to say you can't play others, this is about catering for all oldhammer interests. As with the others, this poll is not contractual - Do not panic! You will not be locked into your choices! This is just to help me work out how to organise the day so that we're all able to get the most out of it. It also allows us to consider other events if we get some curious outliers.

If there are a lot of 'other' comments, I'll run another poll with those options.

I've voted for Realm of Chaos skirmish but would like to play 3rd ed standard almost as much. The only thing that separated them for me was I should have a Khorne warband but probably won't have a full 3rd ed army by then.

I too have voted for a third edition RoC skirmish. As has been said, this is an achievable option for many as only about 20 models are required for a good game. Also, there is nothing stopping warbands being roughly costed in points using warhammer armies and being fielded in a third edition game. Personally, I intend to bring my warbands and a third edition army so I can play both.

I don't know what to choose.
I would love to be involved in a big game of Warhammer even if just moving a few units around. But I would need to team up with someone who knows the rules a lot better than I do ... as I don't play much.
Is that sort of 'team game' with a bunch of us on each side of the table with whatever units we have, roughly divided into good guys and bad guys, something that is likely to happen?
If it is then a big game of warhammer gets my vote.

I'd love to play RT, its fast for a old rules set so no one will get too bored waiting around.

This is exactly what we are talking about.

This is not in any way shape or form a tournament set up. The day or days are about just enjoying the models, rules and social aspect of Old School Warhammer (ie - the way it was supposed to be played). A large scale goodies vs baddies battle is the easiest way to get everyone involved!

Dear All,

I've only recently found out about this event, and so don't know how much is actually set in stone yet, as I'm still feeling my way around the boards. (Which appear fairly organic and 'self-sets') Anyway, all being well I plan to attend, if only to see like-minded people with similar stuff, to what I have, playing games, I enjoy.
I would however, love to get involved by putting on a LARGE DEMO GAME of warhammer (I'd prefer 2nd Ed. as their the rules I started with, but am prepared to use others, as it's only a game). Thus showing off my collection and not interfering with those plans already drafted.
My idea is that I provide all the terrain for a 8x4 table and one side (my Orcs & Goblins with allies!), playing the length of the table, others (I hope for three or four volunteers at least, to provide the other side, not a problem if there are no volunteers as I can provide other stuff, but would prefer not to carry my entire collection of lead to Nottingham and I'd need volunteers to move stuff, anybody? ) and the general idea is to stop the Greenskins from crossing the opposite table edge.
The game would start fairly slowly with a small blocking force and my wolfriders, chariots & pump-wagons on the table lots of movement and panic (smoke and mirrors phase), as more people join-in the next phase begins with main goblin force entering the melee (skirmish game starts to develop into a battle), more bigger stuff joins in and the final phase will see the heavy stuff making their entrance to deliver the final blow on Sunday afternoon (and hopefully in my case see a victory for the horde). This gives people time to wander in and out of the game as stuff is put on the table or back into the box so they can see the other stuff going on or join-in with it. I'm not expecting this game to have winners/losers - its an opportunity to show off our kit and play a game with like-minded souls - hence, no points limit, people can provide as little or as much as they would like. But, I would like to think that over the course of the weekend near enough twenty thousand points of old warhammer miniatures may have passed over the tabletop! With a bit of luck.
Does this idea raise a spark of interest anyone? responses please.

If not, I'll come up to Nottingham anyway and join-in with something else all the best.

Sounds great mate. Like you said, nothing is really set in stone yet... After all, we have never done anything like this before! I'd PM Gaj, who is known as weasil on these boards, as he is very good at organising things... The rest of us are wild worshippers of chaos!
