Some absolutely fantastic looking terrain! It must be a joy to play on.

Can I ask - how did you achieve the broken masonry/bricks on the ground of the ruined Imperial building a few posts up? It's something I've never managed to get quite right and that looks really effective.

Pacific,

It is fairly easy, I gathered up some very, very small stones (much smaller than gravel), some old Styrofoam, cut up sprue frames (making rubble and some longer pieces), old paint of any color, spray primer, and sand.

First I cut up and placed the old Styrofoam to make the base of the piles, gluing it down with epoxy (I did not use wood glue as it shrinks as it dries and will warp your base). Avoid sharp drops and make the rise gradual to prevent unbalanced model syndrome.
Second, several coats of old paint to seal the foam and protect it from later sprays of primer.
Third I glued the tiny stones and sprue rubble on and around the foam piles.
Forth I glued sand around and among the rubble. Do it sparingly and several layers to keep it from warping your base.
Fifth I added some longer straight sprue cuttings to make some ruined frames.
Sixth I painted on a mix of white glue and water to make a very thin but hard seal to prevent it from breaking up as models are placed on it.
Seventh I sprayed with a cheap black primer and then painted.

Hope that helps,

Thanks guys.

I was hoping to do more Gangs, as well as Scum and other models. However it all depends on if I can locate the old metal models. Most of my group has been unable to find their old gangs...or have repurposed them for 40K.

Cheers,

CB
