North Star?

I don't think it's anything but I'm just wondering if anyone has much experience with ordering from North Star Military Figures online?

It's not been long enough to want to chase up or anything yet but just appears a little... longer then expected between placing an order with invoice and any update or order but they are a pretty active company and I have no reason to think anything going on right now.. Just wonder if they are a bit of a slow company ^_^

possible. that's more of a historic show so right up the ally for alot of there stuff. Like I said, it's not a huge issue right now but when it gets to a 2 week mark I start to think "mm.. slow company?"

I've had two or three orders with them over the years, no problems. Plus they're normally pretty proactive in their newsletter to warn if they do expect delays... although I didn't study the most recent ones carefully enough to say if there was any warning.

fair enough. I don't sign up to their newsletter cause I don't think they have enough stuff I'm interested in to be worth getting yet another digital newsletter ^_^

Stuff I've ordered from them has taken weeks rather than days to turn up, but it's always arrived and the minis have always been top notch.

I do work for/with them frequently, usually the only time there's any delay would be if they're waiting for stock from a third party that's late for some reason. Any metal figures are usually cast to order same or next day if they're not on the racks so the delay won't usually be there as long as they're cast in-house. Drop them an email and they'll give you an update if there's an issue, they're all pretty friendly.

Well, except me, but I don't deal with customers ;)

fair enough, like I said, still not quite long enough to want to chase an update. There is a plastic as part of the order (WGA's 'Dead Animal bits' set. Cause it looked good fodder parts) and I think some of the metals are ones they are the supplier for more then make themselves (though they might have the rights to produce them.. whatever). Nothing was stated as out of stock so That's fine ^_^

i have also ordered from them a few times and everything has turned up. I can't remember turnaround, which suggests it wasn't excessively long.

just to finish this off, got a dispatch today ^_^
Glad to hear it! We've got the new Halfling Jousting game and the Stargrave Automatons both out very soon, so some orders might have got pushed back a bit as there were a load of pre-orders to get through.

^_^ got the order now.
halfing jousting seams like a weird mix.. maybe fun
If it's what I think it is then it's worth a look, got halflings riding otters and chickens etc, flip the book over and it's got a 'goblin' version of the game. Can't remember the name of it though.

Hairfoot Jousting, it's a fun little game, and the minis have a fairly old school feel.

(This is not an advert, I get no money from pimping NS stuff, lol!)

nothing to much and... techinally nothing PURELY them. They have been the UK stockist and I think they got the rights to cast up more then ship over, the Pulp Figures line from Bob Murch, so I got a couple of them, A Mark Cobblestone one I've been eying up but wasn't gonna order unless I had a few things to get (part of his Kiss-kiss Bang Bang line.. But it's missing Bernard Cribbins in the set, and a new ish Wargames Atlantic set 'Dead Animal Bits' cause it's a great fodder set
