Michaels War Hammer Horror

I have been to some degree regretting not doing this instead of my Heiligsheld project.
I figured that in order to make it look like the Hammer Horror I enjoy it would be more ECW period than quasi Holy Roman Empire.
This is not what I think of when I think of Old Hammer and so it got discarded as an option.

But upon reflection, the buildings I am making would work for either, as would the terrain.
It is just the peoples that would not, except maybe a few of the more rural villager types.

The only bummer would be the lack of what I class as oldhammer models available (pre WFB 4th edition citadel).
Everything but the models would be cross purpose, but...
What if I just collected a few models, maybe villagers, a few local well to do people, some sort of magistrate, priest and maybe an off duty soldier or two?
That would be the good guys, then just a few baddies, a vampire or two, maybe a werewolf and just a few evil minions to do their bidding.

That would be only 20 models or so, quite do-able.
And Foundry have all the ones I would need, and they are Perry sculpts which is oldhammer in a way of sorts.

I am thinking this will replace the secret project I have been pondering so would not be 'extra' work.

Anyone else done any War Hammer Horror?

Of course the main issue here, is, would it fit as oldhammer content, or would I be better keeping this project on my own forum and or blog?

set of figures inspired by Hammer Horror. They stopped existing in the 1970s. vintage. Pre-hammer. meant to just be random figures but can be used as a force in your oldhammer game? then fine ^_^

It's like a friend of mine posts on the one site which has a focus and his view is as long as most of the content is on brand, you can allow some freedom. Though he does get a bit annoyed with people that ONLY post off brand stuff... can kinda see why we are friends.

Doesn't sound like it clashes with the general ethos of the site. I mean vintage horror wargaming vibe sounds like it'd be of interest to "us folks". I mean there are a good crop of early GW games very broadly in those genres so why not see how well Warhammer can be adapted to it?

I'd say this is fine. It's a project you want to do with miniatures, right? Go for it! There are some horrible horrors in both Hammers, so I think that's a good cross. We've had Star Wars characters recast as 40K more than once. There was a Pulp Alley band based on the Joker that did the rounds on here some years back. I don't even use a Citadel miniature as my avatar, so I have no room to talk! I for one look forward to seeing what you do. I'm sure it will be delightfully old school and very well painted. :)

Well I best get started then, by the way it will also draw upon Tigon and Amicus as well as Hammer Horror!!

The farm proper is almost done, just a few scratchbuild bits left to do, plus Uli the dwarf.
The farm (Uli aside) will work just as well in a hammer setting as warhammer so that is good start.

I think I will make a woodcutters/trappers cottage as appears in many films next, along with the obligatory gallows and guillotine.

Then to double check my Foundry wishlist...
