Michaels 25mm WFB Stuff...

Working on the bridge which is almost done and also on the cottage/turnpike etc.

But then my replacement Stuff Of Legends book arrived (the first was a bit bashed) and now I am distracted and feel a million small projects coming on...

♥️ Mine came a day later than notified, but that's the 'all new' (ie consistantly failing) Royal Mail for you. I can say that as an ex-postie, retired. :) I can only imagine they had absently chucked your packet into a York with stuff on top or newbie tried to shove it a postbox too small. Some at the sorting offices dont give a shite, unfortunately, the state of stuff that came thro' to us to deliver :(

Mine had a free Napoleonics sprue in it,which in first instance thinking how to kit bash it/them :) Anyhow it's sparked memories of minis I used to have as a teen (& some I had long forgotten about!). So that in itself makes it an invaluable and to be a cherished book to me. RIP & thank you Richard 'Orclord' Hale for those memories x

Yeah someone else said they got a freebie.
I got a bashed up corner with mine.

The replacement had no freebie either, BUT, they did not ask for the damaged one back and when questioned, said I could keep it, so I have a mint copy and a reading copy.

:)

Nice gesture, shame not everyone got one. This is the sprue I got. If I had a spare book I would be scribbling (record) notes on the minis I used to have either next to the photos or margins! Am tempted to pencil in anyway & as an aide memoir!

The cottage is almost done, I need to make a nicer bit of road, but I have converted my toll keeper.

I figured he did not need a knife and a club, what he needs (as do I) is a big leg of meat to carry around.

Oh and whilst researching toll booths:

Did medieval folk really pay tolls with fried eggs?
The image looks altered, but it still amused me, especially if a genuine mad medieval illustration.

yeah.. that's not a genuine medieval illustration.. or has has very crap restoring work to make it look soo bad. also the top text is.. odd.. I can't read it too well but.. erm.. Medieval german? saying in a year... "Anno something xxy something Ser alt zoliner Sex . t. frender"? Then some watermark text at the bottom.. SiBN?

The Bridge Cottage is done.

Once I have painted the keeper I will take a shot of the whole set up, river and bridge etc.
The toll keeper has his cottage, but he also has the toll booth he sits in, with it being a workmans hut and with oldhammer being sort of early 80's I figured that such a hut would likely have some 'mens touches', so I put in a page 3 pin up as would be suitable for such a thing.
I decided that with the news of Richard Hale passing away this month, the pin up poster should be an image of his own page 3 pin up oldhammer model, Samantha Phox.

All Hale Phox.

This is the sheet I use most of the time when adding posters:

It is not meant for distribution which is why it is crap, but feel free to use it, they are pretty much just a few images collected from online that I keep on a file for printing.

Many are the same poster in different sizes, makes it easier and helps with placement etc.
