Michaels 25mm WFB Stuff...

Doing my thread catchup! The farm looks amazing, awesome work and just great all put together. The inn is also looking so cool. You're really making me wish I was doing some building! Looking forward to seeing some paint on the Inn ... and a sign?

You do good stuff.
Too kind. My summer build plans have been hampered by my poor memory! I built a castle for a large game as kids and I was sure it didn't make it past the "all white and ready to paint" stage and we used it like that in the game. So I recently extracted it from storage thinking I might pimp it up and actually finish it off over the summer, using my old work as a base ... to my surprise I found I had finished it! So other than spending an hour the other day dusting it and gluing on some broken bits I'm now wondering what to do with it. I'm not sure I want to rework it as it's a bit of my own history now! I might touch up the few chips and broken bits that I couldn't find. However I'm not sure anyone would really use it in a game these days and the base flock is patchy and yellowed (well faded I guess). So it's sat on the floor next to my desk with the intent that I'd photograph it and post it as a bit of nostalgic fun here...

Slowly slowly.

I think it was about 8 hours to build it.
Now to paint it.

First stage of plaster done.

2 coats of white/grey, an ink wash, then a couple of white/grey drybrush passes.

Then painting on actual highlights and features etc, then onto the beams and windows, then more weathering.

I do have some extra bits to add though, but figured I can paint them once I have made them and stuck them on.
Mostly the shutters I forgot.

I THINK what I am going to do is make the stables, though not brick as in Townscapes as that seems to clash with the Inns build, and put the stables and the Inn on the same MDF base.
Less flexibility, but I don't see myself using the Inn or the Stables as anything other than what they will be.
Plus a whole base looks nice.

Though admittedly storage may be an issue, off to measure the Ikea cabinets...
