Metal Proxy's - HeroQuest Females

ManicMan

Lord
I'm trying to bulk out some of my Hero Quest which Female versions. I don't have the two NA sets which had a female Barbarian and female Elf.. which were.. not as good sculpts really but either way, completely different from the male sculpts. I have sourced and fully painted a female Barbarian which the pose matches really well, And trying to see about a Elf, Dwarf and Wizard which also match.. That's not so easy.. Female sculpts skill seam kinda rare compared to male sculpts.. for Elves, most are archers it seams (I have seen one Elf with an axe which is almost there but arms aren't quite as spaced).. doing weapon swaps and some bending is no problem but.. trying to find the base models is hard.. most of the companies i know and get stuff from don't have much close.. some nice models which would fill the role IF you didn't be that close.. an nice looking Female Elf, Oh but an archer.. so not a female version of the HQ one.. some nice Female dwarfs (even if some don't have beards) but again, no really in the same kinda pose.. and there is a limit to how good my sculpting is.. it's pretty low limit too. clothes don't need to be a total match but kinda need to look the part.

I have found a female elf which seams almost perfect.... but it's a 1987 Jes Goodwin Citadel Elf... and doesn't look like it's too easy to source.. 'Morrigan', also released as a Wardancer.

I can see removing one sword, minor bending and maybe seeing about sculpting a colar and it's pretty dead on.. problem is.. she is a pretty butch one

another, and much easier to source one, seams to be at Forlorn Hope:
A Mark Copplestone sculpt classed as a Wood Elf.. not a big fan of the shield on the back, would need the sword removed, the dagger removed and probebly replaced with that sword.. and I'm not too sure about the top of the hair.. so it's not as good.. but something to think about

I have that Jes Goodwin elf. If it's a female I painted it without noticing... I guess you could pass it off that way but doesn't look very feminine to me.

I more took it as female due to the female name 'Morrigan'. the Phantom Queen from Irish mythology. But then.. I see female Ariel's and Male Artemis these days so.. hard to say.. (these days meaning the last 50-100 or so years)

there certainly are some female sculpts amongst the wardancers.
i was going to suggest having a look at warmonger, but i don't think they have anything in a suitable pose.

Warmonger as in foundry? yeah, did look. I think their website is getting a bit out of date with newer stock but they are doing that big move
