Merry Christmas

Occasionally we nudge if the thread topic is very particular. I've always to some extent thought leaping in on the first "off topic" post can actually derail things a bit more than letting it just fizzle after a post or two, or that it's better to steer back by actually contributing to the thread rather than just telling anyone off. Of course the joys of the https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/online-safety-act-explainer/online-safety-act-explainer might curtail some discussions of the slaughter of small soldiers (probably best not to have our villages full of civilians) or the virtues of Caroline Munro. Still we have until march to figure out what that means so for now I'm going to see if I've left any mince pies in the kitchen and maybe sneak a sherry to wash it down with.
Oh. some of them new regs are really.. bad.. very much 'Nanny state' of replacing parenting with laws and stuff.. nasty

Footsore you say? Whatcha get? Please say it's Barons War stuff...
Barons War Welsh, yes! Not currently sure what to do with the models exactly, whether to try to integrate them into a Bretonnian army or make them a warband unto themselves. I'd actually welcome any suggestions...

Yeah, I plan to do quite a bit of work to the manor to make it less OTT and naff.
Could be quicker to just convert the plastic kit.
A thought I've had is to use those highly detailed GW parts as embellishments on scratch builds. This will make the kit go a lot further, with one fortified manor kit making a few more buildings, but would also result in each of those buildings having a subtler ratio of embellishment compared to out-of-the-box.

I'd say put the Welsh in your Bretonnian army, that's what I've done. I also highly recommend some Victrix medieval knights, lovely kit. Also heard the Wargames Atlantic foot sergeants for Barons War come out next month. Can't wait to get my hands on some. You got a thread for your Bretonnian army?

Merry Christmas!

Drew this during the feast:

I managed to avoid overeating this Christmas Eve, pretty much ending the day with caloric balance. Was pretty ruthless with 12 ritual dishes making, like, half of them stuff like "a dried date", "a piece of dark chocolate", "10g of sunflower seeds", "coffee with cream", etc.

I only got 19GBP from my mother. Like it's 100 in local currency and it's like this for last several years or so despite minimal wages doubling in that time. Depressing and frustrating. Ended up donating 18GBP of that to a disabled person in need as it sort of became a tradition.

I'm pretty much blocked from doing Oldhammer purchases (like old White Dwarfes) by postal costs from Britain massively increasing last year - it's like 11,5+GBP just for postage.
