Hello.

I think most of people here have seen this wonderful interview to Rick Priestley:

At 16:42 mark aprox, he talks about the missing rules from the combat results that no one discovered. Did you know about these missing rules?

First I thought about the combat result table in the Q&A article published on WD #136, but there are no actual changes there, only a rewrite of the same rules.

Any thoughts about this? What do you think which would be these rules? Are they really missing or we could have any hint about them? I've asked this same question elsewhere and they told me that maybe these missing rules were the countercharge reaction, but it wasn't in 2nd edition, only in 1st edition, so I don't think so?

I have no idea, the rules seem to make sense (as much as any edition does) and really can't fathom what could be missing.
TBF, he also said some things that were clearly not correct, so this may be another slip up.

I think I can shed a little light on this. My first copy of WFB3 was bought second-hand from the Nottingham University Role-playing and Wargaming Society when they sold off their club stock in 1995. (I got two unused Warhammer Regiments boxes too; it was a good buy!) The rulebook definitely had a page, although I can’t remember which, which had a fairly substantial duplicated portion of text. I’m 90% certain that it was in the basic rules section though.

When I finally bought another copy of the rulebook some years ago, it didn’t have that error. My assumption is that the first print run had the mistake and it was corrected for later print runs.

I don’t have the ex-Uni copy any more; I sold it on ebay after I got the replacement. However, if it’s still out there it should be easy to identify - it had “NOTTINGHAM RPG SOC” written on the front endpaper in big letters.
