Legacy Project 2016 - Chaos Villagers (responsibleone wins)

Re: Legacy Project 2016 - C49 Chaos Villagers (Sign Up/Progr

Good thought ! I had assumed a mutant villager pushing it but this is chaos who needs a pusher?

I have a concept and a base model for a blacksmith. Need to get some other things off the painting desk first, though!

Father Nordvel:

Father Nordvel has wandered the chaos wastes, preaching the gospel of chaos, for as long as any can remember. For his piousness, he’s been rewarded by all four of the chaos powers. Khorne has gifted him with a walking stick topped with a brass skull that wards off the minor curses and hedge magiks common in the wastes. Nurgle has granted him the corpulence to protect him from traveling diseases. Tzeentch has granted him skin that is flowing with change, and brimming with mutation. And Slaanesh has granted him a wine skin that never empties, from which he can grant communion. These gifts have also worked to prove to his flocks that he is a man of the gods, and from his makeshift pulpits he’s issued many a fiery speech that began someone’s path to the armies of chaos.

Thanks, I had originally intended to mention that was part of his other gift from Slaanesh, but decided to keep the description family friendly ;)

On a related note, after the recent USPS rate hike, does anyone want to do a group mailing of their models to cut down on shipping? I mailed a single figure to the UK the other week and out cost $14.50. If like to avoid the burden of such a cost again!

Here comes the Miller of Khorne - Best bone meal for all purposes - thicken your blood gruel, marking out your ritual octragrams - you name it.

Re: Legacy Project 2016 - C49 Chaos Villagers (Sign Up/Progr

Is there going to be a BOYL collection point for chaotic village types?

Re: Legacy Project 2016 - C49 Chaos Villagers (Sign Up/Progr

The Boy and his Dog. That is how they were known in the village. The Boy with the tail rarely spoke to anyone, preferring to keep to the company of his two-headed canine. They were inseparable as they kept their unending watch on the flock of rotting flesh and patchy, bloodstained wool-bags that everyone assumed were sheep.

For there were dark things that dwelt in the wilderness beyond the edge of the village. Things constantly seeking one or more of the flock to sacrifice, torture and to bleed out upon their altars - to be drained slowly in the practice of black magics until all their life essence was gone, and then lastly as carcasses to consumed in the final act of their strange ceremonies.

The Boy and his companion faithfully protected their charges. Only through their tireless work could the villagers themselves count on the grotesque flock as subjects for sacrifice, torture, bleeding out, to use in black magics, and then to feast upon.

No one remembers exactly where the Boy and his Dog came from. Some say the boy was born in the village, his bizarre parentage gifting him with his prehensile tail. Others say he was once a normal boy, the sole survivor of a band of travelers set upon by a pack of chaos twisted hounds in the wild. A boy who then was raised by that same pack of dogs and who grew his tail through long exposure to the taint of Chaos.

The ancients in the village agree on only one thing about pair: the Boy and his Dog had been watching the flock for as long as any of them can remember.

All apologies for the picture. Hasty lighting seems to have washed it out a bit.

Axiom - same address as last year?

Ooh. Heck of a concept there and nicely done to boot with an excellent story to sell it all. Bravo!

Re: Legacy Project 2016 - C49 Chaos Villagers (Sign Up/Progr

a really nice pair and a fitting story.

@ Fimm - I'm not there, but you could pass your entry on to either Chris 'Curis' Webb (slim, late 20s, dark hair in a floppy fringe) or Graham Apperley (not so slim(!), late 50s, glasses, grey hair). I'll be seeing both in a few weeks time.

@ Matt in PA - I love the boy and his dog - kind of reminds me a bit of that French(?) cartoon, Belle and Sebastian.

Here, less his anvil, is my planned Chaos Blacksmith. I've just got him assembled and undercoated. There may be some short delay before he sees paint...
