Lead & Steel 2027 will take place on 03/04/2027 at Crookes Social Club in Sheffield.

We just got off the phone with the good people at CSC and the booking is confirmed - L&S27 will be returning to the Concert Room for another round of Oldhammer fun and frolics.

We'll be filling you in on what's in store as soon as we have the details, but mark the date in your diary and start working in your minis so you're ready when the day comes around.
 
That man doesn't hand around! Barely has the lead dust settled ...
My brother and nephew said they had a great time (didn't know they were going) this year. Hopefully one year I'll make it along. Quite the annual fixture now!

Not to the best of my knowledge, but who knows what madness may have overcome them in the deep Northern wastelands. Still I understand that in time a southerner may learn to adapt to the permafrost, mayhap there is hope for them yet. ;)
 
Lead & Steel Painting Competition First Prize Trophy

Look what just turned up in the post!

Dragon Forge Studio have sent us this fantastic chain-axe to present to the winner of the Lead & Steel 2027 Painting Competition.

So if you want to get your hands on it, get painting and make sure you're there with your entry on 03/04/2027 at Crookes Social Club.

looks PLA, FDM printer. Not saying it's a bad job or anything ^_^ I think if you moulded and cast it up you have some.. trouble ^_^
 
It's come to our attention that in the past 24 hours, the venue we have used for Lead & Steel for the past two years has hosted a meeting for a political party known for it's extremist policies - policies that are at odds with the values of our event.

At the current time we are trying to gather information and establish the ongoing consequences of this in terms of the venue's future bookings and stance on these issues going forwards, as well as what they mean for our event.

We do not condemn or condone individuals for their private views or politics, but as an event that strives to be compassionate and inclusive, we cannot be associated with extremist politics at either end of the spectrum.

As a result of this, we have begun looking for alternate venues for Lead & Steel 2027, but we hope that this matter can be resolved swiftly and to the point where we are confident in still taking place in the current venue.
 
Though I haven't been to the event (I think a bit far for me, despite the odd long trip I do take) I would say I'm in two minds cause just because a venue is used be one group, doesn't link it to others.. HOWEVER!

You have put your view and have more knowledge on the situation then me, So I'll say you probably though long and hard on this and have put your views well. So No problems there. So yep, no issues and I would say thank you for being nice and clear. I'll support you for having your views ^_^ I have no clue (and don't wish to know) what group it was but yeah, I'm quite .. well, against most organised political groups yet also against anarchy so.. I'm a weird boy (mm.. don't have any of them).

Lets not let this drift off into politics. I would assume L&S were concerned that their use of a venue that has been used by someone else might imply they (L&S) share common beliefs with the other group that held an event and wanted to highlight to their audience they don't lest they get piled on by said audience (I understand this isn't uncommon these days online) and also draw attention that they might have a venue alteration. Let's leave it at that.
 
Imperial Sheffield Steelworkers - Exclusive Prize for the Lead & Steel 2027 Painting Contest

Okay, so we had some news that sucked yesterday, but today we have something a bit more positive to share with you - namely this amazing set of minis by Big Mister Tongue.

They're based on the famous statue of steelworkers at Meadowhall, and BMT has kindly agreed to supply one for each of the winners of the Lead & Steel Painting competition next year.

So if you want them, then get painting, because this is the only way you're going to get your hands on them!
