Lead & Steel - 2026

VENDOR CHANGE: MEP Miniatures take EM4's Spot at Lead & Steel 2026

We are sorry to have to announce that, due to circumstances out of our control, EM4 have been forced to cancel their attendance at Lead & Steel 2026.

But we are also very happy to announce that MEP Miniatures will be stepping in to take the vacant spot on the day, giving everyone in attendance the chance to get their hands on the unique and vibrant range of miniatures they're so famous for.

LAST MINUTE VENDOR ADDITION - Four A Miniatures will be at Lead & Steel 2026!

With mere days to go to Lead & Steel 2026, we're excited to announce that Four A Miniatures will be joining us on the day, bringing their fantastic range of Fantasy and Sci-Fi minis to Crookes Social Club - including some rather nice Kev Adams greenskins too.

Not long got back from Sheffield after a long day… But want an ace day!

Was an early start (by my standards…) as I had offered to help @Mat Lindsay transport stuff to Crookes Social and get set up before vendors and punters started arriving for 10:00. We got there nice & early and started hauling trestle tables into the main hall and fended off the caretaker who mistakenly thought the zumba class had the room! The various vendors started getting set up too, fortunately the larger dance hall space was significantly more spacious for them around the sides and 6 large game tables in the middle. 75 goodies bags were preped behind the welcome table (plus a pile of Oldhammer Form cards!) and very soon people started milling in. Mat was showing signs of relief as the boxes of bags were being handed out!

Dr ether was raising money for charity and had a huge box of old lead that folks who were early to arrive soon gravitated towards, some absolute bargains at £5 for 5 minis with some real lead gold. I grabbed a few holy grails before letting my genestealer cult gang loose on the Far Corfe Necromunda game alongside (at least) 11 others!! In the tradition of Helsreach the game was a slightly chaotic blur of turns and inter-gang fighting. My lovingly crafted limo was written off twice, my hybrids & juves were useless at shooting, and I only realised halfway through that my stealer was not permitted to carry loot… However it was all great fun.

Breaking for lunch I popped down to Sheffield institution Bères for a roast pork sandwich and then pottered round the vendors trying not to get too carried away by all the tempting goodies for sale before Far Corfe recommenced. More madness ensued then points were tallied up and I was surprised to find out my gang had scored the most amongst the cultists!

The standards of the painting competition was truly impressive, with some stunning paint jobs on classic minis by the entrants, 9 prize winners were announced with a stand out prize to a forest goblin on giant spider with colours that truly popped off the table.

Things started winding down after 16:00, so I helped clear up before comparing hauls with others and relaxing with a few pints in the local pub were we found out that £741 was raise for Cancer Research UK for the grabamini! Great event Mat and look forward to it again next year!!

Here is my bag of goodies!

Yup, was gobsmacked to find the Patriarch and throne amongst the charity grab bags!! 😳 Hrothyogg And Matthog were also excellent finds!

The berzerker dwarfs and 4th Ed Gyrocopter were my only major spends from an impressive stall of old minis.

The Fenris vamps should make good Fae for The Woods?

The Warfactory monkey should be great fun to paint. The BigMrTong space denizens should be good to add to the How to Oldhammer squad. Some fun little goblin/stealer hybrids were gifted by the talented Sprue Goblin and the 3d sculpted scatter terrain should prove handy. Plenty of cool stickers to cover my game boxes too! 😎
