Lead & Steel - 2026

Tarktik - the Arctic Space Monkey

At long last we can finally show you a painted-up version of the official miniature of Lead & Steel 2026, sculpted by Aiden Bourstred of Warfactory and cast by Curtis Fell of Ramschackle Games.

A member of a techno-savant race best known for its line in digital weapons, Tarktik can seamlessly fit into any RT-era collection or would look pretty damn good in a totally new one too.

If you want a copy, then make sure to join us on 04/04/26 and grab one of the limited number of free goody bags we have for those atrending.

Background by Jon Hodgson Backdrops.

Somewhere in the South West, perhaps? The capital of the Cotswolds is nice. Home to the Big Battles gaming venue too. Tin & Wool - Oldhammer Cirencester has a certain ring to it 😬

oh, there is a lot of stuff there... down here in the south east... I would say no shortage of possible venues but to arrange such a thing would require some money and some social skills I'm surely lacking.. we miss out alot here cause people either say we are close enough to London for that to be local, or they go for midlands as 'centre of the country' despite.. well, to get up there, we need to go via London which is always a pain. But this is sidetracking too much ^_^

Thanks to the wonders of UK public transport that actually takes longer to get to than Sheffield for me!
Obviously has the advantage of not being under 6' of snow like the blasted Northern wastelands, but .... ;)

kinda all types really. Newbury isn't that close. it's the opposite side of London and pretty much mid-south more then South East. Didn't know about Warfare but that's in farnborough which is pretty much next door to Newbury. Salute in London is far closer, thus the whole 'closest being London' thing.

I'm not sure what event it was but when I was younger, there was an event in Bourne Hall, which was at some point a house of friendship (there are a number of Quaker things around here.. some active but I can't say I know many Quakers.) which I think was meant to be a GW event. This would be late 90s, early 2000s but I don't remember it being fantastic.. also kinda a bit busy for me at the time.. and probably now too. But that is about the closest I remember some kinda event being. We do get the odd little show for like Model railways (with really bad adverts which don't tell you where and when.. and then it turns out to be a Sunday which ... ugh) but even some of the local things like the fish festival or fish and wine or whatever they call it (Hastings is a MAJOR fishing town in the past, and still has a fair bit, and of course, Historical one of the 5 ports (cinque ports). But the local council love to try to down play and remove as much heritage as possible. but this gets very messy and sidetracking way too much.

@Citizen Sade yep. By train some ~200 miles since you have to go via London. I guess the line up to Sheffield from London is a little faster. There wasn't a lot in it (and I was only using Google maps), but I thought it mildly amusing. Obviously far less by car it's probably only a couple of hours.
