iSpace Port Melness 2056

Recently a crofting community in the far north of Scotland became one of the locations being considered as a new UK spaceport. So as a stimulas to get me painting my Colony 87 mini's from a couple of Kickstarters I decided to honor it by painting mine up and try a themed approach. I also have a new backdrop with Buachaille Etive Mòr https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buachaille_Etive_Mòr in the shot which is significantly further south and would get in the way of the rockets.

So here they are with hopefully more to follow.

The colony '87 stuff has always been a personal favorite. Glad to see you joining the madness. I really need to paint up the alien pilot fellow in the first pic. Fun seeing yours on a table.

I've got my second batch undercoated and on bases so hopefully I'll keep on going. THe alien pilot was fun to paint especially the pet ubder his arm or is that another crew member?

And more Colony 87 out in the wild with a touch of wild west! This is the maintenace crew explaining to the Marshall that they have no idea where the whiskey for the rocket fuel has gone. There is no truth in the rumour that Scottish Rockets will be fueled by Talisker Whisky. The Marshall is a Blind Beggar miniature now sadly no longer with us. His cyber K9 sniffer dog will appear shortly.

^^Yeah, some of those Blind Beggar miniatures were a lot of fun. Glad to see yours on a table. I don't have the Marshall, but I have a fair few of the others and really quite like them. Fun stuff!

The Marshall's Cyber K9 has just shown up. His cyber snozzle has detected some questionable cyber content being delivered by the spacport's favoured no questions asked courier Little Jack. Another VColony 87 mini complete and Blind Beggars cyber pouch.

I do like the Colony 87 miniatures, one day I'll treat myself! I like the colour choice on the chap, the turquoise works nicely with the pale jacket. Good bit of hard foam terrain there as well. Loved that stuff!

The Salvager Family are having a firm and frank discussion - sometimes know as a family bust up - about where on the big mountain to concentrate their efforts. Finding usable bits of spacecraft that have crashed on it is not easy. This is interrupted by the arrival of the Mayor who wants his monthly contribution to his re-election fund otherwise the families disposal arrangements might come to the attention of the Environmental Protection Agency. More Colony 87 and Blind Beggar Mayor/ Birdman whose android penguin should show up soon.

Wait till his pet turns up then you'll see just how dodgy he is! More almost at the front of the paint queue

Further denizens of the spaceport and local village have turned up as has the Mayor's companion.

Firstly the local market traders who work out of the newly constructed warehouse, the Rolling Messiah and Street Lawyer who is consulting with the Market Supervisor on one of her clients, the Bot trader.

On which subject here he is doing well having recently sold a bot to the reclamation family and expanded into repairs. He's just repaired the Mayor's cyber penguin for him, there's a clue here perhaps to the Mayors former occupation as super villain.

Someone else who may perhaps need the services of the lawyer is the antiquities dealer whose goods have a questionable provenance.

I'm getting close to completing my Colony87 and associated scifi minis but may be distracted by some FTO orcs I have recently aquired. As always comments and criticism encouraged.

Some cool models, I do like the little droids and the penguin in particular. Also anything on Space Crusade boards is always 10x cooler anyway
