I have no idea what this is.

Harry

Baron
So along with the great HeroQuest and Mighty Fortress bits I got off e-bay was this .....
It was mixed up between three different lots .... and there is also a rudder that I am pretty sure is part of it ..... and I do not have the first idea what it is.
I mean I can see it is some sort of Land yacht but what was it made for?
My best guess is that this was sculpted and made as a personal project of one of the sculptors for a studio open day or a games day back in the days that the studio guys came up with and ran games at such events. Could it have been the prototype for a game that never happened? "Fantasy Deathrace"?
All I can tell you is it came with a bunch of stuff that is 25 years old and it is made of the same metal as that stuff and so appears to be from around 1990.
It is about six inches long. The wheel on the back is a little bit smaller than a normal plastic spoked wheel form GW. You could stand a mini (or two) on either side of the sail .... if you wanted to???
It is missing the front wheel that goes underneath ... so I am guessing that this was designed for the board to sit flat. Apart from the hole underneath for a front wheel (or half wheel) there are no obvious places (dents, holes etc) for any other missing parts to be fixed on to this.

The guy these came from does not remember what projects any of the stuff he sold me was for.

If anyone can shed any light on this ..... or right now I will take pure guesswork as to what this might be .... I would love to hear from you.

You beauty.
So not a missing front wheel ... but a ski.
Should be able to fashion one of those now I have the picture.

So another VERY lucky e-bay find.

Very interesting stuff! I was completely oblivious of those - they're an interesting quirk of GW history, and you've managed to pick up a very nice piece Harry!

Yes ... If I was only going to choose one of these ... I would have gone with this one .... even if it is only because it is the one that never saw another version.

Well at least I know how my Elf wizard is getting around the battlefield in future.
