How about a leadpile or workshop thread?

^^^ your leadpile isn't huge because you paint so many of your figures - nothing to be ashamed of there! i got like 6 models done last year, that's just sad, ha!

You do have a point, but there was a stretch where I didn't get even 6 minis done in over a decade, and the ones I did paint looked like shite

I've just had the luxury of free time to make up for it ;)

^phreedh,

I have a soft spot for spreadsheets myself. Sadly, my oldhammer isn't in one as I started collecting it in the relatively early days of computing. For me, anyway. I believe my parents had Lotus 1-2-3 for the taxes but I was a newb and when I sat at it the computer was mostly running things like Robotropolis or Test Drive. That said, I keep thinking of trapping my little lead men in Microsoft cells so that I can more easily count their census. Octavius Julius Caesar (Augustus) is said to have bragged that he "took the census of the empire three times." I've yet to count my complete empire even once. Estimate, sure. But actually count? I am impressed, sir. Perhaps we should call you Phreedh Augustus Numeror Miles Plumbum.

^Count von Bruno and Captain Crooks,

Lord knows I had a decade or so of not getting much done. Sometimes life just gets in the way.

^quindia.

Comfortable space. Something like the smaller pictures on the left would surely help keep things in perspective. I have keep them on my piano, but should maybe have some in the basement as that's where I'm want to get lost of late. It's good to remember life outside the basement and why we're here.

Here's my den of debauchery,

After it had been cleaned up & added a shelf from IKEA :)

^optimus,

I think that might be almost a third of the space in my brother in law's condo. Given where you apparently are, that's a heck of a spacious workshop. Well organized and well lit. One piece of takeaway from all of this: maybe I should move my workshop above ground. Natural light would probably be a bonus . . . but then I'd have to fight my wife for the spare bedroom. Nah, I'll stay in the basement and envy your natural light. Nice modern space for some retro gaming.

Generally, men have better footwork, longer reach & are stronger than women. So your chances of beating your wife in a fight for the upstairs room are pretty high

Sorry, bad taste joke

One tip I could offer in regards to better lighting is the use of daylight globes. Not only are they better to paint with, they actually make your working environment more comfortable to work in. Note, the pics I took were taken at night. If you look at the picture of my desk you can see one curtain closed on the left hand side & one up on the right. I've got two daylight globes in the ceiling & a LED lamp on my painting desk. Makes a big difference.

That's the cleanest my room has been in a long time......was tripping over my stuff just last week :)

My wife is literally half my size. If was up to arms and muscles I'd win. But she's a better cook than me. And she has wiles and guiles I cannot defeat. And all my friends like her better. I can't win. She gets to keep the "chair room." (So dubbed as every time I had a chair I wanted to get rid of she told me to move it to that room and save it.)
