Holy Grails - You're most sought miniature(s)?

These are the ones that have eluded me, but that I someday would love to add to my collection.

Grombrindal, Gotrek, and Bugman.

Grombrindal (2002 version that is drinking from his helmet).

I think these are both on troll trader at the moment. Although at £40 for the White Dwarf on his own and £85 for the one with gotrek and Bugman, the prices are pretty high!

Thanks for the tip!

Yeah it seems a bit high. I was hoping to get the Grombrindal/Bugman/Gotrek model for about £75, and maybe the White Dwarf on his own for about £20-25. Buying from Troll Trader with shipping (£8, reasonable) and additional customs fee (£35, ouch!) it would end up costing me a total of £178 for those two models. So I might have to look around for a local seller first and foremost. But I have plenty of dwarf miniatures in my backlog already to keep me company and that I have to get to first before I run out of miniatures to paint - so there will be plenty of time down the line to get my hands on these lovely additions.

Your in the states ain't you? How did you end up in Norwich?

It's a long story. I was trying to help my brother, who was working in Cambridge at the time. His boss lives in Norwich. (Or outside of Norwich, really.) I honestly liked the place. Played the piano in the castle mall for a while, just for giggles. The only person who I ever had any trouble with was a fellow who fancied himself a linguist, and didn't much care for my pronunciation of Debussy, among other things. (I'd been playing said composer's A Minor Prelude fairly competently, though it's gotten a bit rusty since.) I was all over the UK that summer, really. Peterborough, Edinburgh, Nottingham, Loch Lomond, Aylesbury. Even did manage to spend a little time in Cambridge where Matt was working. Eventually. All in all, it was a remarkably good trip.

^When I was younger the accepted pronciation in the US was approximately "deh-BYOU-see." (Which is what he said.) These days "DEH-byou-see" has come into fashion. I think the French would be deh-boo-SEE." So yours is probably closest. It was all pretty ridiculous, really. I won't pretend to speak French. I only pretend I can play the stuff. (On a good day.) But he really did think he was a linguist. Insisted on lecturing me on certain American dialects, that he would not credit with being English. Bit of an ivory tower prick, really. (Though I confess, I can be a bit of a prick myself, under the right circumstances. For instance, I would buy tickets to watch what happened if he said what he said on the street in my fair neighborhood. Most of my immediate neighbors probably wouldn't go full beginning of Pulp Fiction Samuel Jackson/Jules on him, but there might be some exceptions. And a few blocks away, the exceptions might be the rule, so maybe we could take a walk first.) Anyway, I digress. Back to holy grain miniatures.

So I'd really love to nab a QT dreadnought or two. (Both Solar Force and Ramoran.) And the QT Solar Force exploration cruiser is another deeply cherished white wale I'd like to bag.

My next one on my list is the chaos dwarf juggernaught. Three on eBay right now. Two look to be recasts. The third is legit but looks rough.

I'm so glad you rescued this thread from the neighbours.

I loved the Chaos dwarves when I first started collecting ('86) but I feel the chaos sculpts gradually got too outlandish, with armour moving from Samurai helmet horns to more Chinese-New-Years-Dragon-levels of parade decoration.

Same, despite being a former admin over at chaos-dwarfs.com and creating a mask type army. Never been a fan of the big hats.

3rd edition chaos dwarfs are the sweet spot IMO.

I'd love to have a sealed copy of 40k 2nd edition. I have one that's basically mint without the shrink wrap but it's not the same as being sealed. 1993 Christmas day :)
