Harry paints Bretonnians

This is Jac .... 'Le Forester' with a small unit of Brigands. (Old Citadels with 5th Ed standard)
(I now have the extras, from the Foundry, to make this a unit of 10)

These are great, the colour schemes work very well. Earthy, but with enough of a heraldic touch. The 5th edition standard bearers fit in well. Bretonnian infantry were always quality sculpts, I just wasn't so keen when the armies started consisting of mostly knights.

Thanks very much. I was going "Earthy" with my Brigands. You will see the retainers are a good bit less grubby. Although still a little bit grubby.
I wanted a clear difference.
Couldn't agree more I always fancied a big army of infantry with a handful of knights. One of those things I have finally got around to doing.

... And here they are all together:

There is also a similar sized unit of crossbowmen but these are still WIP / not finished.

This muted blue and the creamy white work wonders together !

The group shot is a thing of beauty really and really emphasises the charm of bretonnian when you give them a cohesive colour scheme. Splendid really.

Very impressive indeed! A nice little force already. I love how well the 5th Ed command groups fit with the older models.

Do you have Knights in process as well? I assume they will the 3rd Ed ones as well?

I can't wait to watch the project expand. Very inspiring.

Cheers,

Blue

Thanks very much fellas. All comments greatly appreciated.

The 5th edition ones are a tiny bit bigger ... but then human beings are different sizes ... it all works.

I do have knights (Foot and mounted) ... not currently in process. But I will get some done. Really wanted to concentrate on a large force of retainers with just a handful of Knights.

These are my peasant archers:

Still not 100% finished but getting there.

Really nice bretonnians! I like your freehand, something I have to be better at trying. Also the tone of yellow is outstanding! :)

Absolutely stunning!

So much characters in all of those fellas, especially the bowmen.
Robin Hood fan?
Oh yes!
