Grenja's Chaos Cult of Dambala

and finally, Grenja version of Chaos Hound team....using Scotia Grendel Kryomek worm monsters....with the idea that these live beneath the temples of the Slann and feast upon the discarded remains of sacrifical victims....Grenja has summoned them above ground. Thanks for looking and sorry poor photos, hope can figure out resize process soon. Regarding Bananas...i thought they added to the "exotic" atmosphere of the Cult, plus i was keen to find an excuse to use them for anything and happened to decide one day to glue them on a dwarf body and add a Skaven head. Also because i am trying to use as few as possible actual Beastmen figures as i dont think they fit the atmosphere of the army.

All the new stuff looks great, particularly the hobgoblin on the terror bird and proxy minotaurs. Lovely painting and freehands, and a great selection of unfamiliar figures. A very unusual and interesting group, mighty Grenja indeed.

Proxy minotaurs look great in this context and I agree standard beastmen would be out of place, but are any of the early pre slottas a possibility? As always the colours are brilliant.

Thanks Tubehead , Ketil Trout and Inchmurin. Indeed Inchmurin i agree those would be wonderful recruits that would fit really well, but hard to get i think and expensive, i have only 1 so far. but at some point would like the set very much. Here a few more reruits painted the past days and ready for battle this week vs Dwarves. I was realy lucky and blessed by Grenja to receive this Chaos Snakeman...

And finally, painted a while ago, but forgot to upload....a modern Skeleton Frog warrior from Diehard Miniatures, as i am using the Skeleton Orcs from Scotia Grendel in this army (probably as thugs to give some cheaper rank and file, plus connects well to the Exuma raising of the dead subject matter), i thought he fits perfectly to Lustrian Chaos Cult...( i realised today i can copy and save photos from the Book of many Faces (social media Faceboooook) and they are automatically resized. ) Thanks for looking, shall write army list the next days

Thanks Daddyorchips and Inchmurin. The bases are realy simple, just cork painted acrylic ´Paynes Grey´. Some grey stone could work well as contrast with red warriors Inchmurin ?Grenja gathered more recruits the past days as his forces prepared for their debut upon the field yesterday (will try to do Battlereport while events are still fresh in the mind). 3 more snake related creatures joined. One for perhaps use as Sorecerer in the first photo but for now Chaos Marauder, and a plastic orc with Otherworld snake head glued on visible amongst the gathered Guard of Grenja in 2nd photo...with a Manticore from Ketil Trout in background and an Elephant as Giant (orignally bought for my Kings of War theme Jungle Orc army and random moster for ´Death in Lustria´, now recruited as Giant for Grenja....next week Grenja and his elite Guard travel to the Northern Isles to convert or destroy the orcs of Ketil Trout.

Like the orc the combination of chunky body and sinuous head works well. Good luck with the expedition will they be taking a Caledonian Macbrayne ferry?

Thank you Inchmurin and Symphonicpoet. Grenja has not been idle in his recruiting. So decided to at last update this thread. Grenja was also quite busy defeating Dwarves on this soil then travelling to the North where, despite him being crushed by a Man Mangler direct hit from Ketil Trout`s Green Skins, his forces of Chaos were victorious (at WFB 3 and 4). His followers gathered his remains in a pot and after some chanting in jungle clearings and midnight rituals Grenja lives again. Grenja has recruited a C27 Hydra. (this will take a while, more to follow, but thanks in advance, for looking)

Great use of the new plastic skulls kit!
It gives a great feel of morbid weirdness, you know the kind of over the top ritual these guys are likely to fall into. ;)

...And overall, excellent work with a lot of depth in the photos!

and finally a work in progress , started last week a Chaos War Altar / Chariot . . . Idol of the Sacred Coatl Egg , which Grenja requires for his dire rituals . Still more to do to this, including adding chains to connect the beasts to the rider, and paint more... had not planned to build this, then rediscovered a Benin Voodoo sculpture in the catalogue of a French collection that i saw live in Paris around ten years ago and suddenly decided to finally do something with the remains of the Goblin chariot i had here, missing most of the parts. will photo again on its own once done. Thanks for looking, will edit previous 3 photos as i just saw the repitition / wrong photo was uploaded in the chaos of Grenja file names on desk top.
