• Welcome to the Golden Gobbo painting competition. If you'd like to read some of the ancient history you can on the Realm of Chaos 80s blog.

This competition is held some years and you'll find threads here describing how to enter and when the competition is running (typically after BOYL each year).

Other than the fame and wonderment of your peers there is often a prize kindly donated and you'll have the wonder of being awarded badges for your profile here.

A beast/rider combination I have on my wish list for long time already. Well done. Need to save the pictures to copy fr... to use as an inspiration when I do get to it myself, eventually. Where are the minis from?
Thanks, the cockatrice is from Marauder and the goblin is from Knightmare, part of Bulbous Peppernose’s retinue.
I also like that combo. Did intend to do it when I've painted mine but when I test fit Gobbo on it I discarded the idea but I've forgot all about the saddle! haha Now I'm tempted to put Gobbo on it after all. Fantastic looking.
Thank you, I made the saddle from greenstuff.

Meet Bellow-hoof Thunderhead. No, he is neither the deadliest nor most ferocious of Bloodthirsters. But certainly, one of the most thunderous you can possibly encounter. Every speech, grunt or roar of his is like booming thunder & earthquakes, louder than any war machine present on the battlefield. Even if mortal combatants do not retreat in terror, the deafening roars will certainly ensure they fumble in combat, and get chopped down by Thunderhead and his daemon entourage. From afar if you hear sounds of a thunderstorm but only to see reddish daemonic forces amassing, then it is best to flee and live to fight another day.. Impressive, nice work on the "gold" armour. Who produces that beast then? Great expression on his face, although I suspect that chain link thong could be the cause :)

Thanks for the compliment :)
I tried my best to closely follow the box art, hence the choice of gold armour.
Mr angry red bull hails from the year 2001 -> almost quarter of a century -> 23 yrs old (less vintage than the other entries though) BTT1.jpg

As usual I've been too busy to do anything, so here's a picture of one I did earlier, which I'm particularly proud of - A daemonette of Slannesh dripping with slime whilst in the service of Nurgle!
Enjoy

Ahah, a GW model from my wilderness years. That'll be why I didn't recognise it! Thank you.

That's a really good looking model Paul, great palette. I think yours takes it to twenty entries so far this year with a few hours to go will I need to raise the question limit on polls beyond twenty I wonder?
