Getting back

Great stuff them ratties!

Set yourself managable monthly targets for units! I set up a simple spreadsheet to track progress and completion target dates.
Assume you plan to batch paint? How many can you reasonably work on at once? It can be disheartening/boring if working on the same models at once, but having a completed unit once done is very satisfying!
My plan is to either tackle the slaves as I can batch paint groups based on the fur colour or pick one of the small 5/10 units as I agree completed units are very satisfying to look at.
really? they ARE the Skaven! not the iffy stuff that came later. Okay, I know I'll do to 4ed, but 5ed onwards, the Skaven models are just.. ugh.. not for me. Maybe the odd one okay but they just aren't the same species.

Some rat Ogres, 1 Unit of Slaves, 1 unit of Clan Rats, a 2 units of Gutter runners, 2 Units of Plague Monks.. Huh. interesting choice to have Gnawdoom with the plague monks ^_^ No stormvermin/black rats?
The completed units are on the original Topic which is HERE
Not 'named' characters no. There weren't really many before 4th ed. Gnawdoom is the main one.

Manic's right though, JG nailed the skaven with the first release. Every other iteration has just been a pale imitation.
Although not named as in the sense of heroic characters, many of these along with so many other models from that period were all given names and some of them were highly amusing .

Yep. I always thought it was kinda funny how some random names became Characters. I mean, For Skaven, Gnawdoom was kinda major for the first mission, but Thrott was a generic mutant skaven packmaster but later made into a major character (and they kinda got rid of chaotic mutations for Skaven ¬_¬ and made a couple of them part of all Skaven which.. was weird..

Indeed. Although I'm not a huge fan of the preslotta sculpts. There are some gems, but a lot of duff sculpts too. I think generally things went downhill from about 1997.
