Last night whilst watching season 2 of Fallout I made a base for my mini. Never used cork before but always wanted to and felt this gave me a perfect chance.

It's a really handy material and looks great as rock! I have just started experimenting with bark (from a pack for orchids) which also is a impressive facsimile of rocks.

Was hoping to paint up today but ran out of time and also totally forgot about a shield ! Anyway here he is so far.

with @dazza36 making such quick progress, and a week's holiday next week, i thought i'd better get mine done.









i did try and add some paint bottles to the base, but the cocktail stick i was using kept splintering.

Finished. Was an interesting model for me to paint and not something I would have ever bought myself so cheers @twisted moon

Don't get the wrong idea, I really enjoyed painting him and it's helped get my mojo back. What I meant was because it was something new I was able to try out some new ideas like with the cork base as it didn't have to fit in with anything. I'm a Kev Adams man when it comes to orcs so would have never bought this model but now I've painted him I may well see if I can get a couple more so he's not so lonely !

Late to this, but that shield design is fantastic. Great design and far more symmetrical than I can ever manage! Rest of the figure is great too of course. 😀

Thank you @dazza36 he arrived safely today. Already getting some ideas of what to do with him.

Hopefully I'll get a chance to get started on him this weekend. I've got three lingering models to finish off before I get onto my next batch 🙂

Hope you like. Have to say, it's rather stressful picking a model for someone else to paint. I narrowed it down to a couple and then came across him and just loved the pose and remembered how I loved looking at the adverts in WD when they released the Viking range back in the day. Will look forward to seeing what you end up doing with him.

I'm tempted to turn him into a mini diorama. Will have to see what foes I can rustle up for him to fight.
