Great paint job on what to me is an era defining mini. I have many happy memories of using that to splat my friends orc and goblin army. I used to try and count it as a six crew stone thrower which meant it had a ridiculous template size! Although the quid pro quo was i used to get a lot more upset when he did the same thing to my hammerers. I am enjoying the dwarf stuff this month.

So I've been using Februhairy to spam the short bearded tat from my youth. I am beginning to lose my mojo with these guys although the AHQ hero is a nice figure. Not sure about second cousin Rollo though, who was released around the time I went to university so snuck into my self appointed time frame (after which I put aside toy soldiers for a few years for fear of never being spoken to by a member of the opposite sex, as is traditional!) I'm actually only short of one of the dwarves from 5th editon to have a fullish set of plastic hand weapon and shield dwarves. Which is sort of exciting!

Bum.. you live and learn. I need to get better with spray varnish. Last time I was too far back and it went dusty. This time too close and it glooped. Fortunately the damage to Helga and the dwarf standard bearer isn't too bad and I should be able to fix tonight. The bloodbowl goose is going to need his head stripping though. I'll test the acetone on some of the plastic sprue first, to make sure it's safe though. Pics of the pre-varnish balls-up!

I always brush varnish to try and avoid this. It has its own challenges but nothing is perfect

Last time I tried brush varnish it seemed to strip the paint. But I'll try it again. It's all learning and at least the damage on the most important models isn't too bad. I think I may also have caught some models unintentionally with over spray.

Try primer first and leave it a day before painting, then a day after painting for varnish so it fully dries. Helps alot ^_^ not that all primer is fantastic cause finger oil is a killer.

I wanted to get a figure for this but.. had problems with one small part of it and lost something I need to either remake or find which isn't gonna happen.. you would think it wouldn't be hard to find small animals for helmets as small bits for customizers...

I get that with craft paint I use when applying brush on varnish, but never on proper model paint.
What paint was it that was being brushed off?
