Gorgeous giants, one and all. If 'gorgeous' is a word that can be applied.

I have an old, old giant that has been gathering dust on a shelf since he was last used in battle probably about 20 years ago.

Any idea what make he is? I certainly don't. He doesn't 'look' like citadel.

According to This chap he is an old Grenadier Frost Giant, the axe-wielding variant. I have the hammer wielding version of this who has been sat on my desk at work for years. I just say he is Thor and its a religious thing...people tend to leave me alone then ;)

I've only just noticed thread and I have to comment on what you did to Nagash.. it's amazing the difference the resculpt to his face makes. I always thought it was his hat that made him look stupid when it's actually been his face! Very nice to see him look more like how he does on page 15 of the Undead army book. The other models are obviously very nice as well but as an Undead player who hates how Nagash looks I just had to comment! :)

Thanks very much.
Here are some WIP shots so you can see what was done:

I have resurrected Nagash, Supreme lord of the undead.

As you can see there has been some green stuff work on the head.
I wanted him to look a bit more like this wonderful Mark Gibbons art work

I was able to get the very talented rikard from the Warseer forum (who now sculpts for AoW don't you know) to have a crack at copying Marks art.

... and here he is ready for some paint.

I had a crack at the glowing eyes ... but talentless hack that I am ... i couldn't pull it off:

And here he is on the base.
Really pleased with how this worked out
The hands really look like they are reaching to get a touch of the robes:

When I was trying to position him on the base I accidentally placed him stepping on the zombies hand.
I couldn't help but smile and I think I will leave him there.
I have always enjoyed the the comedy elements which are as much part of Warhammer as the 'grim, dark'.

He did a great job indeed. I read on your post on Frothers that it was sculpted by him. He also did an amazing version of Lord Kroak based on the Mark Gibbons artwork from the 5th edition book:

Yes. Amazing stuff.....and it's only a hobby gig for him. Just think how good he could get doing it full time. Can't believe GW didin't snap him up.

Up next:

As some of you may remember I offered to paint a Citadel Giant for 'Skarsnik and Old Lead'.

It arrived in the post this morning.

Exciting getting to see one up close for the first time.
I unwrapped it with all the reverence of someone in a museum unpacking some ancient relic.

Here it is:

WTF is that giant stone troll from? That is some prolific painting there by the way, and some really nice work too. Very impressive stuff. Do you brush everything?

Thanks.
The Stone Troll is from Forge World. They produced a small selection of big sculpts and busts early on when they first started.
Yes everything brushed.

Sadly he is not mine ....although I was lucky enough to get to paint one.
Painted it for another guy on here just to get the chance to paint one.

I have another one of those frost giants ... thinking of doing on with, more traditional, Blue skin

Wow, an amazing collection, beautiful paint jobs. The nagash conversion is great always disliked the original face. The yeti :o

Thanks very much.

This guy is a Fighting Fantasy miniature.
Sometime in the 80's Citadel made a bunch of BIG plastic miniatures for Fighting Fantasy ...the Game books.
They were not great sculpts and made in soft plastic but ... well see what you think of him as a Bone Giant ...

He didn't come with a staff .... he had a sythe but I have lost it .... and whatever was attached to his belt ...so I have improvised.

Here he is with some Grave Guard .... I think it works:
