ugh

it's official

US eBay is trash compared to all the great old school auctions the uk has. Go to the US version and search for nurgle champion. It's full of $35 buy it now auctions for a single fig.

Ahhhh but there aren't as many people looking for classic stuff on our side of the pond...I'm not a nurgle fan but I just picked up a blood thirster and keeper of secrets for less that $10 each...so must be patient young padawan...:)

Cheers,

from ebay?

I had those on my list for about a year and I almost never saw those under 15. $10 is a really solid price. Same seller?

The lord of change and GUO seem to go for more though.

I know there are not as many people going for the classic stuff but there are also not as many auctions. But I should have specified that old chaos is the worst on us eBay. You can still find deals for other old school models.

Ok...I may have lied a little...I just looked back at my records and I did pay $14 for the Keeper...but they were from the same seller and the combined shipping still made it a deal.

I did pay $18 for my Lord of Change...but it had the two headed head... that I've been looking for forever so I was willing to pay a little more for it.

Certainly there are less vintage options in the States but they do come around...looking at UK ebay makes me sad because the selection is great...but the shipping can be a killer...unless I can get quite a few things from the same seller and savea bunch on shipping I don't even bother to look anymore...makes me sad...even just a year a go international shipping was much more affordable...in both directions.

Cheers,

Mbh, the trick is to look often and look with "wide" search terms. Someone who knows enough to use exact descriptors is going to charge more than someone who lists it as "warhammer monster." The eBay mobile app is great because it will show you only new items that meet your saved searches so you don't have to look through the same items every time.

guys

I'm an eBay master. I took down 18 snakemen last year for less than $2.50 each. I have some special tricks that have worked wonders.

I'm at the point right now that I only need some of the most wanted chaos minis.. It gets brutal sorting through the same outrageous buy it now auctions every week. But I'm just being a baby. I've been pretty lucky in the past.

I really feel that this forum and the high power level of the chaos book released last winter for 8th Ed have contributed to the drought.

busted

The keeper is usually the cheapest of the four big boys.

Nice price for the two headed LoC. I have three others but I'm still searching for that head.

You're right about uk eBay. Tons of great models but the shipping has gone brought the roof.

Agreed. Unless your idea of "vintage" is WFB 4th/5th ed junk...err stuff, then it is challenging to find good minis. The best thing about the US market, is that older minis typically go for less in the US; we are too myopically focused on Space Muhreeenz.

International shipping is really a sad tale. I used to ship out single minis to the UK for $2.50 & now it is closer to $8.

Shipping isn't all that bad, but if needs to be in quantity to make it seem worthwhile. Just sent a UK pal of mine nearly 4lbs of lead for $34, not too bad considering...
