[DSR] Dark Scifi Renaissance

Well, Ion Age, a bit like Warzone/Mutant Chronicles and Kryomek doesn't really have any horror elements, and is over 20 years old, and can't really be said to be part of a 'renaissance' that's happening now. DSR is a bit more than 'stuff that looks like a 40k clone with space marines', so not all those things are relevant really.
Wait, Ion Age is over 20 years old?
Whoa:

They used to have much better cover illustrations. Firefight looks almost like someone was disappointed in direction Rogue Trader went and wanted to do something that looks similar to early first edition.

Yeah, but Ion Age had a new edition. Firefight 2.0 was released in the end of 2009 and there was whole bunch of games and miniatures, including 15mm ones released in 2010s and I would be surprised if it wasn't driven by Oldhammer becoming popular. So, most of that stuff is completely new, especially vehicles.

Weird I always felt like Warzone/Mutant Chronicles took the horror aspect of Wh40k and turned it up to eleven. I just disliked their designs and miniatures.

No, cheesy 90s comic book styling isn't really horror.

Now this is an amazing thread.

Lol. Yeah Mörk Borg itself is a bit Dark Souls / Cave Evil / Realm of Chaos-ish, and very cool but not much sci-fi (the same guys put together Screams Among the Stars, which is more sci-fi).

There's a compatible Mörk Borg miniatures ruleset, called Forbidden Psalm written by a 3rd parrty, but I've no idea what it's like, but I'm guessing low model count skrimish rather than mass battle.

^The art is certainly attractive. How do the rules play? Is this more of a roll playing game or a miniatures game, and what do you think of it?

HOSTILE is an RPG, no idea how it plays, or if it has any mechanics worth stealing for tabletop. Really just magpie-ing.
