Undead, forever practical. No wet or dy rot. Sorted.made of giant bones is daft.
Wouldn't this need a skilled workforce of Undead carpenters? I'm not sure I can get behind that.Maybe the reality of those war machines and chariots is they are wooden and carved to look like bones and painted?
@Brother Meredith seems to have expurgated every chaos dwarf that ever existed. Either that or he thinks they are just misunderstood (and no way 'bad guys)'.What makes you think stunties aren't bad guys?
This 'Lindworm' illustration by Bauer (1911). No limbs no wings. Now that's a forest dragon 🐲. Well, to the Swedes anyway...Forest Dragons are quite lithe & flexible compared to wide & muscular mountain dragons, they slink around tree trunks and roots before taking flight in clearings. 😄

Chaos dwarfs are the finest milliners in the old world. There has to be a subplot in that.@Brother Meredith seems to have redacted every chaos dwarf that ever existed. Either that or he thinks they are just misunderstood (and no way ain't 'bad guys)'.![]()
Absolutely right! This 'Lindworm' illustration by Bauer (1911). No limbs no wings. Now that's a forest dragon 🐲. Well, to the Swedes anyway...
Yup, but dwarfs like to use crossbows, so not just bad guys. Guess they prefer the mechanical side of them (before straight up black powder weapons were introduced for them)?
The Empire has crossbow troops as a compulsory unit, along with halberdiers.

The undead and their doings don't necessarily bear close examination. I mean who in the undead camp is spending hours painting skull emblems on all the shields? Or maintaining their weapons?Wouldn't this need a skilled workforce of Undead carpenters? I'm not sure I can get behind that.
I always liked the ones that had a heroic background (a bit like the Army of the Dead in Lord of the Rings). The Nightmare Legion has a similar avenging ethos.Yeah the undead having undead themed gear is also daft to me. I paint my undead in the uniforms they wore when alive, likewise their shields are shield shaped rather than coffin shaped and carry the emblem of when they were alive.
My undead are raised from fallen troops of Sylvania so bear their colours and related devices
