Do You Like What You See?

I aim for a decent overall good table top standard. I am aware I don’t have the skill (or the time) to do really amazing painting. I struggle with freehand on stuff like banners. Once I got that straight in my head it made me happier with my painting. The output of completed models stresses me out more. During Covid I finished 2 armies (Skaven, Eldar), a fleet for MoW, several BB teams and 90% of a dwarf army. Since then I have picked away at the rest of the dwarfs but not to any satisfactory level of completeness.

I love to start models, building, basing and baecoating, but then I ted to lose motivation for the final push to actually finish the model. I have dozens (or more) of models that have one small bit to finish that I put off regularly. I'm generally happy with the finished model but t takes ages to actually get there.
Prepping minis for painting is part that gets me the most and man, do I ever loath it so much. Cleaning mouldlines, filling gap of slotter base (though if just possible I always ruthlessly cut slotter tab / puddle base off and pin the mini), adding flock and painting it and all that jazz...
It takes such a long time before I get to painting that I often find myself bored of the mini even before getting to add a lick of paint.
I used to keep on thinking (or having nightmares wide awake?) of spending a month or two just prepping minis. Now the thought alone makes my carpal tunnel hurt.
