Daniel Clift... wow

Hello Daniel and great to have you on the forum. Loved staring at those GD entries in the Fantasy Miniatures books. Amazing work. Do you still break out the brushes much these days?

The commander conversion ... the detail on that cloak! *wow*
I honestly hadn't picked up a brush in around 30 years until about three weeks ago when my eight yr old grand-nephew visited from Spain. It turns out that both he and one of his uncles are into Warhammer figures, and so I ended up spending more-than-a-few hours over the Easter break painting miniatures with him, and helping him build a fortified outpost out of cardboard packaging.

I must try to see if I can get some better pictures of these figures - I suspect GW were somewhat limited by the technology of the time in terms of what they could capture.

Awesome, that's what it's all about at the end of the day.

That would be very cool. I find it's the printing that's the big limitation, the half toning does limit what you can see. Although as I understand it one reason for the very bright paint jobs on lots of models was to help with the photography. Even now I often struggle to get something that I feel properly captures the miniature.
I bought some Eldar a while back at auction and ended up in touch with the original owner, he'd also had a piece in WD 'back in the day' and did a newer photo which was quite interesting to see.
