Again: Well done Sir.
A wonderful cloak and I like what you do with those axe blades.
Seems like the guy with the cloak has a chipped nose though.
Nothing to it, I am doing a (wet) dry brush with tin bits and a dry brush with chainmial, I just do it in on direction and with a knackered brush that leaves it stripy,

Yes ... he has ... quick touch up needed.

You're certainly making some in-roads into your collection of Copplestone's barbarians Harry, keep up the good work. How many more to do, or shouldn't I ask? 8-)

Very nice. I'm a big Copplestone fanboy myself and I aim to get all his Grenadier minis. I have most of his barbarians, cavemen and ancient germans and i try to mix them.
there are a few new fantasy sculpts of his coming up for the Frostgrave game, including a barbarian and two nordic wizards.

I too am a big Copplestone fan, and I think you've done a great job of making them look unique and yet feel unified.

I need to get one of those skull-helm guys; he'd definitely come in handy.

Thanks very much fellas.

As far as Barbarians go there is everything in the first picture ... plus a few extras to make up units.

But I have some other Copplestone stuff too. :roll:

All great stuff. He did a fair bit of stuff for Grenadier ... Armies for Humans, Wood Elves, and High Elves as well as some character types/Adventurers. When I have finished I may have spares of lots of this stuff. Drop you a PM if you are interested.

Had not heard of Frostgrave. I will be checking that out.:grin:

What do you mean spares! Aren't these figures just waiting for you to get more figures to make up more units?

Paul / Golgfag1

well, you can't have doubles, no? :grin: I can't stand it at least. I alwaystry to convert doubles.
Thanks Harry, I'll keep that in mind!

I do love Copplestone's work, especially since he's comfortable to develop within his own great style and not try to 'trend' in with some of the younger/modern sculptors' rigid, clean lines thing that's all the rage these days. That Frostgrave sculpt is wonderful!

Great work all round Harry; solid, vibrant paint jobs just the way I like 'em!

PS. I'll take any spares if area23 doesn't!

@Golgfag
Get the behind me Satan.:grin:

@area 23.
OK thats cool. Been to have a look at Frostgrave. Not much info at the moment but some great sculptors on board and it sounds like it might be up my street in terms of scale.
I try to avoid doubles when there is enough variants to make that possible. Even if it is just a weapon swap or a re-positioned arm.
Then I try to give them a different paint job blonde/dark hair. Light clothing/dark clothing. etc

@Protist.
I always thought of his sculpts as very 'clean' ... He was never afraid to leave smooth surfaces which allows you to paint designs or blend shade.... unlike the current trend of detail on top of detail. I think I might use the word 'elegant' to describe his work.

(Other words would include: stylish, graceful, tasteful, refined, sophisticated, classic.:grin:)

Those skin tones are simply excellent. Mine usually end up looking like they fell asleep on the beach with badly applied sun block - splotchy all over :roll:
