Hello.

I am considering a unit filler on a 40mm x 40mm base.
For the humans in my Warm Ale and Mud project, everything must be an old citadel/GW model.



Ideally I want a pig but I don't think they made any?
Failing that maybe a boar would work.
There are a few options, Fiend Factory boars, Animal Handler boars, gobbo/orc boars, maybe more.

Before I get one though I am concerned over the size.
Does anyone have anything like the above, and if so, would you be so kind as to take a piccy of it on a 40x40 base/bit of card/cutting mat etc at all please?


Or maybe some dogs, Blink Dogs or similar?

Langley Models do reasonable 28mm pigs. Come with a bonus halfling…

Citadel pre slotta c22 had all sorts if creatures incl giant shrew and a weasel. No piggies in this listing

C25 animals by Perry's still sold by foundry but usual pack animals and camels 🐫

yeah. I might be getting confused with one of the Ral Partha ones they sold back in the day and when WD would feature a mixture of miniature makers.

Could old Foundry models pass muster despite your Citadel only rule? It would expand your animal options a bit. Foundry started in '83 & the Perrys sculpted a lot of the early stuff.

Pretty sure these are all old Foundry. The running hound is from the Celtic boar hunt set.

Only if it was sold by GW/Citadel at some point.
There are some ex citadel pack animals on Foundry but they are not quite what I am after.

I did that for my 10mm and it worked in big units of 40 in big armies of 100s. Not convinced it feels right for my village though.

Maybe mastiffs or suchlike for (the counts) hounds then? Woof woof

For pigs maybe the old Boars from the Marauder Miniatures Orc Boar Rider ranges? Not sure if anyone got the license to produce them now tho. (The riderless one is mine.)
