Classic Units

Hi

I was wondering what classic units people were trying to complete. I am building up a 3rd edition orc army, and almost completed rugluds armoured orcs and working on Harboths orc archers.

What are people working on now, or planning as future projects ?

Been getting Rugluds and the Marauder Orcs in trades for my best mate, surprise additions for his Orc army as he never finished the units he had of them.

For me self, no named units but Im trying to do a big unit of the old Chaos Thugs with each figure different.
 
He is a wierd side on pose, I am in work so can access the solo legends site ( work computer must think it is porn !) but will try to call up a picture later

I've always wanted to have a 15 man strong unit of avenging knights of the Blazing sun to face my Disciples of the red redemption. The ste was completed in August and I am looking forward to painting them :

Heh, I was just this very second pondering their appropriateness for that purpose.
 
Yep the sculpts don't look very human and it's this that has stopped me using the ones I have. They don't look human but are iconic and I cannot bring myself to use them as high elves. Maybe the right paint job..

Speaking of Ruglug's and Harboth's:

These were my first boxed set, a Christmas present so set one is still painted as originally and will never be stripped.

Set two is in process of being painted to my current standards.

Set three is pristine and I'll keep as a collectors item.

Set four I got with something else I wanted and is up for trade, I had thought of giving it away but prices on ebay have gone up so high on this I'm not sure I can give away £70 worth of miniatures without really good cause.

I have three lots of Harboths but only two boxes.
 
Wow, impressive. Rugluds are a particularly sore subject for me, had a unit of them and a bunch of other old orc stuff go missing in a house move and never found out what happened to them. :(

My favourite is my unit of Skarlocs archers, got about 20-25 of them including the full command group, though I ended up using the wardancer elsewhere (I know generally sacrilege on here but that's just how I roll!). Love the models and had given them a new paintjob a few years back that I'm still happy with.
 
On my "to paint" list for this year are the Lothern City Guard, which will form part of my Sea Elf army. I have a unit of 18 including the full command set.

I happily finished painting my Rugluds Orcs a few days ago and just have to do shields and x-bows now.
Next thing will be to finish a small unit of Eeza´s Mothercrushers and to collect the last missing Iron Claw goblins.
