Chaos Thugs (4th Edition)

I recently acquired a copy of Warhammer Fantasy Battle 4th Edition and some of the Army Books, including the one from the Chaos Army Box set:

I was hoping Chaos Thugs would be featured in the army list of the above, but they're not. However, my edition is from 1996, rather than 1994, and has been "tweaked" for the subtle changes of WHFB 5th Edition.

Does anyone have the 1994 version of this book and can they confirm whether or not Chaos Thugs were part of the Army List in it?


I also have a copy of the Warhammer Armies booklet which came (so I'm informed) with the 4th Edition box set in 1992. It definitely has Chaos Thugs in the Chaos list, but I imagine this was just to cater for 3rd Edition players who still had Thugs in their Chaos armies. Given that there were no new Chaos Thug miniatures produced in the 90s, I imagine they were officially dropped from all further 4th Edition publications.
 
No Chaos thugs in the list, you are correct. Point available however so go ahead and use them. I know I do.
 
Thanks, Erny. I have a unit of Chaos Thug archers from the Battle Masters game that I was looking to field in 4th Edition.
 
Thanks, Dreadaxe -- yes I had mentioned that I spotted them in that booklet, but apparently that was their last official publication in any Warhammer army list.
 
Ah yes, I have that book also, though I'm planning to rid myself of it as soon as possible. Not only did it start the rot that divided the different type of Chaos creatures from one another (eventually forcing them into seperate armies), it also forced virtually all of the "heathen" Norse peoples into the grip of Chaos -- eliminating the existence of the "noble barbarian" type who would fight for good (as in Hero Quest and Warhammer Quest).
