Chaos Chariots for Warhammer Armies?

Hi,
I’m currently building a Chaos army using the 3rd edition Warhammer Armies book to bring to BOYL next year. I was looking to ask some questions about this idea I had for a proxy.
The army I’m building is inspired by Blackwolf’s army from Ralph Bakshi’s Wizards (1977) (though I won’t be using any swastikas). In the movie the fantasy world is actually a post-apocalyptic earth and, as such, the army has access to tanks.

I recently found out that Chaos chariots were a thing, and I thought that maybe I would be able to use a model tank to proxy a chariot (potentially for my general or wizard). However I’ve been having rouble finding a scan of those rules, and any snippets I have found only talk about them in terms of chaos champions in the Realm of Chaos books. Does anyone have the rules for these chariots, were they added to the general Chaos Army list?

If not, please post any other ideas you might have for this project if you can think of any, anything is appreciated.

I think 6th edition was when rules for them came out, though if you are playing 3rd just use the chariot rules from that?
Though they were never part of a chaos army as per 3rd edition warhammer armies as far as I know?

Hi,
I was thinking more in terms of points values and what restrictions they might have. I know there were rules for chariots I’m just not sure how to implement them into an army list that didn’t have them originally.

Like I said I’m planning on bringing this army to BOYL next year, would they allow something like that? I’ve been once before so I’m not sure what the attitudes for those kind of things are.

Pretty sure anyone can use chariots, only some army had special rules for them?
I know in 4th, Chaos could have chariots and I'm sure that even though they weren't in armies, Chaos could

Ah, No sooner then I said that, Lost and Dammed have rules for Chariots of Tzeentch and Nurgle, So I think Slaves to Darkness probebly has them for Khorne and Slaanesh

Which dark dæmon is your army serving?

I had actually come up with my own patron daemon using the system in Slaves to Darkness, simplifying the true name I came up with I got Tulorax, which I think sounds decent enough. I’ve generated the daemon itself as well as its minions. I’m not sure what the common agreement is but I feel that the Warhammer fantasy and 40K games are set in the same universe, and because of this I came up with the idea of the daemon being a DAoT AI that developed its own presence in the warp. As I made a rewards list for champions, I fudged some of the numbers slightly when generating chaos attributes for the army that would better reflect it.

Having a look at my copy of Slaves to Darkness I couldn’t find anything on chariots. having a look in the main WFB rulebook’s section on chariots I feel like I’ll probably be going for a heavy chariot. Having a look at the point cost calculations it would be the total points on the animals plus crew, times by 2. I was thinking 3 warhorses and three crew not including the character model i want to mount it.

Do you think that will work for what I’m trying to do? I’m not quite sure what the crew should be, i was thinking maybe thugs? I could give them light armour, crossbows and spears.

Let me know what you think

Slaves to Darkness Page 184 for Khorne
Slaves to Darkness Page 187 for Slaanesh (misprinted with some of there rules but nothing major)
Lost and Damnned page 206 for Nurgle
Lost and Dammned page 228 for Tzeentch

The formatting between the books isn't great ^_^ and while they have some stuff for creating your own stuff, it's mostly left for you to use the ones they give as examples

yeah, Heavy makes sense, they normally allow Chaos Steeds. For the chaos ones, it normally allows a D4 amount of Chaos Attributes for the people onboard and yeah, 3 crew plus character sounds fine.

Have had a look again and I’ve found the bits you’ve mentioned. Seems like the entries are fairly generic, so I guess it should be fairly easy to transplant things over if you think the people at BOYL will be ok with that kind of thing
