Caradepato's greenskins

Thank you for your kind words. Got four more orcs coming up this week, experimenting with varying the skin-tone a little more, so it will be based on vallejo luftwaffe camp rather than army painter army green, so a darker and bluer tone.

I would not want to try to get the saddle off that bovine. Maybe what you do is get him to walk between the legs of a stand and kneel down enough to walk out. Or maybe you have jackstands to lift it off.

Anyway . . . that's awesome! :)

I don't know what the right word is.

maybe howdah. it's a great model and you've certainly done it justice. like inchmurrin, i could definitely see that on the steppes as part of a hegemony caravan, either with a different driver, or with the dwarf enslaved.

I've also made the first terrain I've done in a very long time.

It is papier-mâché with rocks stuck in it, and then covered in homemade sculptamold.
The most expensive thing is probably the grass tufts.

The orcs look very good, of course, and that's also a very nice hill. :) The variety of different ground cover is particularly nice; some bare earth, some rocky outcrops, some clumps of wild grass . . . very nicely done! :)

Your style is so crisp and clean. It's really lovely stuff. I had the chap with the axe and conical helmet 'back-in-the-day', so I also got a bonus waft of nostalgia. Looking forward to seeing your horde grow.

Thank you folks!
Took another break from rank-and-file orcs, but at least I'm on topic - working on a big-boss for my force. Strictly speaking its a new sculpt, from 2019/18 I think, but it is a Kev Adams sculpt and done with a classic long face, so look forwards to that. I'm also going to work on some more terrain - another hill and some rocky ridges (crags?).

Great paint. I’m drawn to the dwarven merchant.

And the hill has an outstanding natural look to it!

Thank you Ortejax!

So, instead of painting the figure I said I'd paint, I painted up three bugbears from Knightmare miniatures greenskin wars range. Love these sculpts - Kev Adams if I'm not mistaken (listen, I didn't set out to collect Kev Adams sculpts, yet somehow I can't seem to escape them. Not that I'm complaining mind you, they are really good).

Thank you, both of you. Your words are very motivating to me.

I'm working on something slightly different now - I've been into the oathmark rules lately, and one of the expansions has given me a reason to model something I've wanted to do for a long time.

So, resurrecting this thread.
I have been busy with finishing my course, settling into a new job and working on some non-oldhammer stuff (10mm fantasy and battletech mostly), but this orctober I felt compelled to paint a good old-fashioned orc.

Thanks folks. It will probably take a little time before I post again, going to paint 20 vikings for oath mark, but then I should be back to old hammer (or at least old hammer inspired)

Such masterful work... love the skintone... and those haunting eyes! (How can an Orc have haunting eyes??)
