Whilst searching for birch seeds I stumbled upon something else too...

I now have an electric fly swat and a tea strainer in the post, any ideas what I found? ;)

Static grass!!

And may I say, what a fantastic idea and amazing output! Followed and bookmarked, drooled over, etc. :)

Yes indeedy. I've been using static grass for ages, but never new you could make it even more static and stand it up! I'd just been sticking it on in clumps. :?

On an aside, the next batch of Oakbound miniatures are being cast next week so expect photos of them in situ as soon as I can find time to paint them!

This was what my living under a rock comment was referring to.

You can also try rubbing a couple of boy scouts together.

Did you also discover grass tufts?

It is one of the UK's most common trees.
Any Birch tree will do.
They drop about a million seeds every year.
Just fill your pockets late summer.

Or you can buy them online.

I was thinking that since it's not exactly 'late summer' sourcing them might be a question of finance rather than walking in the woods...

The fly swat and teas strainer have arrived.
