Brushes

sometimes it depends I find, but yeah. But larger brushes have more bristles, so the tip would be thicker cause there is more going to the tip, and smaller brushes have less

Quite I have some really tiny brushes, but I don't use them that often - the above 0s and a few other similar sizes (eg #2 in the Davinci and Carlos range is a nice size, I suspect both are made by the same company actually). I find you need a bit of mass to the brush bristles to maintain a point you can use, too fine and all you can use it for is as a liner for - well drawing lines you can't "dot in detail" or anything because the tip is too soft. It's why I don't really use those Warcolour brushes - their points are too fine to actually do much with. Still an interesting idea to have the thicker stem, so I was curious to try them.

It does annoy me that sizes vary so much, but I suppose if they didn't then why would we have all the different companies. I'm still looking for a nice round "wash brush" that holds a good amount. I feel like my current ones are not "quite right" and I have one ancient one that is just perfect, but I've never found one the same size again (alas it lacks any meaningful labelling on it).

I found the army painter brushed to be quite rubbish. Split really rapidly. Not impressed. Though I do like their paints.
I've also found this. They have been relegated to dry brushing.

Tbh, I just use Citadel brushes as they're in the shop next to the paint. I abuse them horribly and so probably don't deserve anything too fancy. I'm still using an old tobacco pouch as a palette, too. It's probably the same tobacco pouch I started using 'at a pinch' in 2020, so should maybe think about upping my game somewhat. I may treat myself to one of those Rosemary & Co brushes for Xmas, along with a less crusty tobacco pouch.
